****Eddie's POV****

I slammed my hand down on the dashboard, cursing and screaming as the van struggled to make it the last stretch to Lucy's place. I spent the night but we both had fallen asleep shortly after I had told her I was going to maul her. Smooth fucking move Munson. How she didn't kick my ass last night God only knows. And thankfully Steve was at Syd's so I didn't have to explain my departure from her room this morning. I had left early to get shit together to make today all about her. I left a note, so she wouldn't be confused or scared when she wakes up. I had made rounds to get her some sweet coffee drink thing, some flowers, and a stuffed lamb for her to put on her bed... I noticed she has this ever growing collection of lambs so... Why not add one more?

"Goddamn son of a bitch!" I shouted, "Come on!! I just got that fixed!" I curse as I hear a whine come from under the hood of my van, this thing always picks the worst time to act up. Fuck.

My stomach began to do flips, I was at the last stop sign before her house and was living on a prayer to get there. Please please please...

By some odd miracle, I fucking made it... So now my girl's special day won't be ruined. I breathed a sigh of relief and climbed out, moving to sneak back in through the backdoor. She was still asleep by the time I got to her room. Thank God... I swipe my note from the nightstand since I'm back and she didn't even so much as roll over while I was gone. Quietly I crumble it up, tossing it aside and stepping out of my shoes. As I crawl under the warm blankets I hate the fact that I'm awake at what feels like the asscrack of dawn but here I am. I promised to make it up to her and I still feel like an absolute asshole. What I said really was shitty and she deserves better... And if I fuck up again I'm pretty sure Syd will scalp me and wear it on her backpack like a badge of honor or something... A warning to the next guy what will happen if they break her heart.

"Eddie?" She yawned.

I could feel her body stretching beside me as she woke up. A few small whimpers left her lips before she relaxed and rested her arm across my stomach,

"Good morning, Princess." I smiled.

She giggled, "Good morning."

"Are you hungry? I got us breakfast..." I grinned.

"What did you get us?!"

"Breakfast burritos!"

"Oh my goodness... That sounds amazing actually..."

I hand her the greasy wax paper wrapper and grab my own, hearing a symphony of happy Lu noises as she munches on her breakfast. I take a large bite, humming as the delicious flavor fills my mouth.

A smile spreads across my closed lips as I watch my girl happily sway as she continues to take bite after bite. Shoving the remainder of my food into my mouth I reach down beside the bed, retrieving Lucy's coffee, sweet enough to give you cavities, just like her. A grin pulls at her lips as she covers her mouth trying to hide the fact she's still chewing.

"Awe Eddie! Thank you!" She giggles retrieving the to-go cup from my hands, holding it close to her chest and enjoying the warmth before taking a small sip and setting it aside.

"And what would you like to do today, Princess?" I question, tossing my empty wrapper in the bag along with hers into the grease stained paper bag.

"Hmmmm, honestly I'd really like to just spend the day with you, maybe watch a movie, my pick of course" She giggles, bed tousled hair sticking around her angelic face like a halo. She sits up pulling the covers away from her revealing one of my shirts she had kept over her torso, bare legs prickling with goosebumps as they meet the cool air of the room.
