****Sydney's POV****
A few days had gone by since the Homecoming dance, and today was the big game. If I'm being completely honest, I don't care about the game itself, I'll be throwing an absolute rager at my house. My mom was away on some trip and Dustin chose to crash at Mike's for a few days. So Sydney gets the house to herself! Steve was on his way with some stuff for the party. I paid the kids in my saved up allowance to decorate and clean up. Lu and Eddie were on snack duty, and I was running the whole operation. I felt like a mafia boss. But before we could all have fun and let loose at my party, we had to go see the big game... Or pretend to. I could hear loud metal music blaring outside as Eddie's van came to a screeching stop in my front yard.
"Hello... You have precious cargo. Careful how you drive, Munson!" I snapped, "My best friend is in there."
"Trust me, Henderson. My girl is perfectly safe with me." He assured me.
"Shut it," I smiled, "What snackage are we looking at?"
Lu sighed as she climbed out of the car, "Enough to feed a small army."
"Herbage?" I asked.
"You know I never let you down. Would you expect me to start now?" He asked, "Of course I'm bringing the weed."
"Don't go slacking on me now that you're with my best friend."
"I'm not that stupid. I'm not risking an ass kicking from you or missing a sale." He laughed.
"Where is Steve?" Lu asked.
"He is getting the alcohol. He will drop it off here any minute now." I told her as I grabbed bags from the back of Eddie's van.
"Then we will all go to the game together." Eddie added, "In my van."
"Ahhh yes. I love the death trap!" I smiled.
"She still goes strong." He laughed.
A few moments later Steve pulled up and popped the trunk of his car. We all helped carry things inside and set up a bit before we head out to the game. The counters were loaded, snacks were set out, alcohol looked enticing, and valuables were locked away. Dustin and the kids made sure to get everything fragile put away which was a relief for me if I'm being quite honest. I grabbed a jacket and my keys before locking up. We all piled into Eddie's death trap and sped off. Steve saw his life flash before his eyes, he had never ridden with Eddie before.
Aside from Steve having a whole panic attack while Eds drove us to the dance, everything was fine. On the way there I could see Eddie reach over and take Lu's hand. He gave her knuckles a soft kiss and then set her hand back down before barley missing the curb.
"WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR DRIVER'S LICENSE FROM, EDDIE?! I NEVER WANNA GO TO THAT DMV AGAIN!" Steve shouted as we pulled out of the van.
Lu kissed Eds and ran off. She was part of the Homecoming court so she had to ride around the track in the back of an old collectible car for a lap during the half time show. Poor girl has to sit in a car with Jason.
"If he tries anything..." I smiled.
"Blink twice." She confirmed as she ran for the locker room.
Eds, Steve, and I sat towards the very top of the bleachers so we'd be ignored. I wasn't about to hang out under the bleachers today. I know who is down there shopping out a new unsuspecting target... Billy. Steve gave me his jacket and kissed my temple before intertwining our fingers together. The game itself was terrible. I wasn't sure if we were winning or losing until Steve explained it to me. He gave up when I told him that the only balls I care about are his. Eddie nearly gagged.
