****Sydney's POV****
I stood in Billy's room with full body trembles. I wasn't sure where to start, it had been a couple of weeks since I had been stupid to take Billy back... Yet again... I should've done this somewhere more... Neutral... I shouldn't have come to the lion's den. I'm going to get slaughtered... I could feel icy chills running up and down my spine as my mind raced through so many possibilities of what was gonna happen. Billy looked at me as he lit a cigarette. His blue eyes alone were enough to make me feel a bit uneasy, something about his eyes can just make a person stand frozen in fear. He never gives any hint as to what his next move will be, Billy has always moved in stealthy silence, avoiding making connections with people, avoiding making any kind of attachments. He also trusts no one, not even me, and we have played our game for years. He knows every move I'm gonna make before I make it, yet I can't read him. I made the mistake of being vulnerable, he had total control from that moment on. But he never let me see the tricks up his sleeve.
"Well?" He asked, "What was so important that we have to talk?"
I snapped from my train of thought and bit my lip before deciding to just rip the band aid off, "I think we need to break up."
I braced for impact, whether it be words or hands, as sad as it sounds. He sat there frozen for a moment, I thought he was hard to read before, he is a whole other language now. The scariest thing about Billy is his ability to always be two steps ahead. I'd bet my life that he already knew I was coming here to do this.
A grin played along his lips, "What makes you think that?"
"I am tired of this constant cat and mouse with you." I said, hoping he caught on.
"Okay. Go on then." He shrugged.
I felt my anxiety swiftly being replaced by confusion and anticipation. Why was that so easy? What is the motive here? I'm already at a disadvantage, if I slip up once, I am done. I am in the lion's den and if I turn my back for even a second, I'm dead.
"What do you..."
"I was bored, and you were lonely, Doll Face." He winked, "I've had my fun. Go on then."
His words felt like a punch in the gut, "Why do you have to be such an asshole?"
"Why do you have to be so delusional?" He countered.
"How am I delusional?" I asked.
"If you have to ask, you're more far gone than I thought. Now get the fuck out." He snapped.
I slowly backed out of the room, shutting the door and running as I made an escape, there was nothing stopping him from getting in his car and running me down. He almost ran down Dustin and the boys. He wouldn't think twice about mowing me down. I ran until I was sure he wasn't trailing me, then again, his car is a dead giveaway to where he can be. I made my way home and rushed to my room, trying to evade my hovering mother. Well I may be stuck in this game of cat and mouse unless Billy gets bored and targets someone else... But at least I'm not trapped with him...
****Lucy's POV****
"No way. They definitely wouldn't like that. Steve would be a whiney baby the whole time." I laughed.
"Well maybe we can try a drive in? They'll be nice to each other if we are there too, right?" Eddie asked.
"That might work!"
Eddie and I had been planning on how we were gonna manage to get Syd and Steve in the same place at the same time without the other one noticing. Steve was refusing to talk about his feelings for Syd and I couldn't get Syd to stop dumping her feelings about Steve. These two are never on the same page! Maybe they can balance each other out if we can get them near one another. She is halfway to short circuiting every day she sees him and he just walks away. He doesn't even know she dumped Billy because he has been a stubborn asshole for the past couple of weeks. But I can't blame him, he has had to sit there and watch the girl he loves, yes, loves... Be with someone else... Someone who doesn't love her back.
