****Lucy's POV****

A couple weeks had gone by, Steve and Syd were in this weird place in what I thought was a blossoming relationship. My parents were even confused by it. The two would sit in the same room but not together. They'd hold hands for a moment then let go. The thing is, they'd laugh and talk and act like nothing was up... It was getting so weird. The other night she snuck out of my room to go sleep with him... Now they hardly speak to one another. I shrugged and walked down the hall to knock on Steve's door,

"Come in." He called.

I walked in and saw him sitting at his desk working on homework, "What class?"

"English, what's up?" He asked.

"What's going on with you and Syd? You two were inseparable once we got back from the date..."

He sighed, "We are adjusting? Like... It feels different now. A good difference and I think it's us trying to accept that we can be romantic to one another..."

"So are you two... A thing?" I asked, "Like, is it officially labeled?"

"Am I supposed to ma-"

I sighed and crossed my arms, "You're an idiot, Steve. Yes. Otherwise Syd is gonna think you don't want her! That's probably why she is acting the way she is! She was ready to maul you the night you went to the... Forbidden chamber..."

"DON'T RUIN MY SACRED SPACE." He yelled, "I finally got it to look how I like..."

"Steve, dear brother... I refuse to cross the threshold to enter the pool house. What makes you think I want to go into that room?"

"Stay out." He warned.

"YOU DON'T HAVE TO ASK ME TWICE. I DO NOT WANT TO KNOW WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO IT. I WOULD RATHER LISTEN TO SYD GO ON ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF BURNING OFF HER FINGERPRINTS FOR A DIAMOND HEIST IN THE SMITHSONIAN THAN GO INTO YOUR CUM DUNGEON!"

"She told you about that dream too?" He asked, "She wants-"

"To make it a movie called Family Jewels so she can crack jokes about balls."

"Yes!" He grinned, "I think it's funny,"

"Do you work today?" I asked.

"I close with Robin, why?"

"Can you give Syd and I ride to-"

He has fallen, and fallen hard. I mean, I'm glad that there is progress at all but holy crap. I never knew how far down his feelings for her go. I saw his uniform laid out on his bed and noticed the hat was missing.

"Steve... Where is your sailor hat?" I asked.

"Syd has it. She says it's dumb."

"I know. I've known this. You better hope she gives it back, that hat is public enemy number one."

"Not Billy?" He asked.

"Nope. There is one thing she hates more than Billy and it's your Scoops hat."

"Really?"

"Really. Steve... Do you have any semblance of an idea of how long she has pined after you?" I asked.
