Changes make us Better

Angie's POV:

I saw Drew at an edge of the cliff, overlooking a valley. He has already shifted back into human form. He sensed my arrival and thrown me a shirt and some jersey shorts. I shifted and worn the clothes, "I always have spare clothes here, I like this spot" he said.

I walked towards him and sat beside him. The cold breeze sends shivers to my body.

"Come closer, I'll just put my arms around you so that you will feel warm, is that okay?" For the first time in my life, somebody asked for permission to do acts such as this. But still, he did not wait for my approval instead he just put his arms and rubbed them against my shoulder.

"Tell me honestly, Nikki is your mate?" I asked. His hand stiffened from the mention of Nikki.

"Nikki was my mate," he answered back.

"Why are you rejecting her?" I asked.

"Are you fucking kidding me? What are you blind? Don't you see, she's pregnant and I'm not the father. I don't want a mate who whores around and cannot keep her legs closed together."

After hearing how he humiliated Nikki infront of me, I raised my arm and slap him so hard that he growled at me while shouting, "What the hell Angela?"

I stood up and shouted back, "You have no right to say bad things about her, you don't know her, because you don't want to know her. She does not whore around like you thought," I started walking away from him until he grabbed my arm and said, "Why are you protecting her? She is carrying Seth's kid, aren't you even mad at her."

"No." I said firmly. "You were not there, you did not see them together, I did. He loved her so much, and it was my fault that they are no longer together."

"What do you mean?"

"I am the next-in-line for being Beta, I'm supposed to be Seth's Beta and Nikki well, she's supposed to be the future Luna. A month ago, on the celebration of Seth's 16th birthday, he was supposed to be engaged with Nikki," I heard Drew growled.

"You want me to continue or growl back at you?" I asked.

"Sorry," he mumbled. "Go on..."

"So I was surprised that Seth did not push through with his proposal, then I learned that Nikki was pregnant, and I was Seth's mate, then Nikki opted to go back home and I got marked by Seth, then here I am. She's one of the true friends I value most, give her a chance. Things may not work out at first, but if you help each other to make it work, then it would work." We spent my birthday night talking about everything, him asking questions about Nikki, and me asking questions about his past.

"Drew, things happen for a reason, we may sometimes don't know what it is, but trust love one more time and always one more time," I said. Drew just wrapped me in his arms to keep me warm.

"I wish that you were mine," Drew said.

"That's not fair," I answered back and continued, "I am for Seth, as you are for Nikki, be thankful that in this crazy world, we have found our true mates. We can still be friends."

"Friends, such a long time that friendship was offered to a lowlife like me."

"Don't even think of yourself as that, you can make this group of werewolves into a pack, you can be their alpha." He did not answer back, instead we just lay there and slept under the stars.

Drew's POV:

I opened my eyes the instant I felt that something was on top of me, an arm was laid on top of my chest, and a thigh was resting on my leg. I looked at the thing that was sprawled all over me and I recalled the memories of last night – Angie. I poked her arm trying to wake her up, nothing happened. I touched her cheek, still nothing. What kind of a person is she, thinking of her made me laugh, I have never felt something so funny. She sleeps like as if there is no tomorrow.
