Unfortunately, the quota wasn't able to be fulfilled, so here's an update a week later, just like I promised.
Sorry it's a bit late, depending on which part of the country you're in. Right now I'm in New York, so it's like 11. How 'bout you guys? Where do you guys live?
Anyways, moving onward...

The first time I arrived at Primrose Academy, my mind was blown. The entire place looked unreal and foreign; yet it felt like home...

Chapter 5: A New Year
Cole stared up at the academy from his vantage point on the ground. He could just make out the tips of its pointed roofs. The midday heat made the air waver, and for a moment, he was scared that the academy was nothing more than a mirage.
"It's real," Reed said with a laugh as the two slowly followed the mass, moving towards the gates.
"You know me too well..." Cole murmured as he kept his gaze locked on the academy. Despite Reed's assurances, he was still scared that it would disappear without leaving behind a single remnant.
He wouldn't be able to live if that happened.
Letting out a sigh, Cole began to move forward, his dread gradually being replaced with barely contained excitement. He hardly made it two steps away from his original spot before a loud piercing shout interrupted the chattering of the crowd.
"MISS DES MOINES!"
Cole flinched slightly-an immediate reflex whenever he heard that surname. Closing his eyes, he breathed in deeply and shook off his nerves, before turning around to see what trouble that blonde demon had gotten into now.
His heart pounded at the sight that greeted him. Ailana was standing on the edge of the train, facing the academy. She had a distant look on her face as she stared off at the school, but once she heard her name being called, annoyance quickly overtook that thoughtful expression immediately.
"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING UP THERE WHEN YOU WERE SPECIFICALLY TOLD TO STAY AWAY FROM THE ROOF?" Cole finally caught sight of the man who was shouting at Ailana. He blinked in surprise when he saw that the man was actually that cowering guard dog who had been following Ailana around like a lost puppy. When did he grow a pair?
"When did he grow a pair?" Reed asked as Cole's best friend appeared by his side, mirroring Cole's thoughts.
Cole shrugged.
Even from this distance, Cole could see Ailana's eyes flash dangerously. "I believe it was your job to keep me from doing what I wished," she replied monotonously, raising an eyebrow at the man. "It is far from my fault, as you keep insinuating. If only you had bothered to do your job correctly, you would not be in trouble with Headmistress Yolanda." Her eyes glittered coldly as she gazed down at her guard dog. "That reminds me. When you meet her to attempt to explain your rash actions, tell her that I send my love."
