Ah, it feels kind of weird to be writing again. I literally wrote all of this on Sunday because I was a t a writer's block earlier. Luckily I was able to finish in time and am now presenting you guys with a new chapter!

Hope you guys like this chapter! (No random stuff int he A/N now, 'cause I've started creeping myself out)

NOTE: I accidentally made a mistake in the last chapter. So, no, the History and Literature classes are not in separate buildings, they are both in the North Building. I changed it and will be referring to an area that will take place of the Literature building in the Southern area, where the main gate is located. Then again, I don't think you guys care about the layout of the academy, so just ignore my little ramble and continue onwards.

Training and practice at Primrose Academy is rigorous, often involving days filled with nothing but drills and conceptual thinking before moving on to the physical part. Advanced classes do allow for those who have proven that they are well trained and understand their power in depth to skip straight to the physical fighting. I myself have never participated in one of these, preferring to take things at my own pace; however, I do see the advantage of such a course.

Chapter 9: Power Control

Fiera couldn't stop staring-well, glaring-at Ailana across from the Air Group. The Des Moines was sitting at the edge of the group, ignoring all attempts at gaining her attention and deflecting questions with simple one word answers. It was obvious that she was in no mood for meaningless chit chat this morning as she stabbed mercilessly at the sausage links on her plate, a moody look on her face.

It was no surprise that Ailana was the Fire Elemental that Fiera saw in the training car that day. Des Moines had a history of amazing power, but not even to the extent of Ailana's control of fire. Still, being that Ailana was the only daughter of two of the most powerful Elementals in their generation, Fiera should've guessed earlier whom that girl was, especially since she knew beforehand-everyone did-that the heir apparent to the Des Moines house would be attending Primrose Academy.

Still, something about that girl bugged Fiera. Fiera was a girl who never backed down and who loved a good challenge.

And Ailana Potentia Gilliad Des Moines was definitely a challenge.

A girl like that would be very nice to compete with in both the monthly tournaments and in the Dancing of the Elements. As an opponent, Ailana would be fearsome, a force to be reckoned with. As a teammate...well, she would still be both those things, but Fiera would have a sense of security.

Fiera's lips curled upward slightly. As if sensing the girl's gaze on her, Ailana lifted her head, amber eyes clashing with baby blue ones. The Des Moines kept her face emotionless while Fiera openly and unashamedly showed her distrust of the first year.

The two's stare off was interrupted when a bony elbow dug into Fiera's ribs. Yelping, the Air Elemental whirled to face the person who dared touch her, an expression of fury crossing her face.

Upon seeing who it was, Fiera groaned and turned back to her breakfast, stabbing violently at her scrambled eggs. "What do you want?"

"Um, are you an idiot?" Kelly hissed into Fiera's ear, staring at Ailana. The first year had averted her gaze the moment Fiera looked away and was now staring off into space, still managing to keep that poker face on.
