Man, you guys are lucky. These past two chapters have been over 3000 words long! My brain feels like mush...
Ah, well. I'm sorry if towards the end, the writing detirorates (did I spell that right?). I wrote this in, like five hours straight. Okay, a bit of an exaggeration, but still-IT TOOK A LONG TIME!
Hope you guys like it, WE'RE FINALLY GETTING SOME ACTION! Also a little more is revealed about Cole's past and a bit about the rules of a Dance. Sorry there was no instant upload, but I've been giving really long uploads at least!

"A Dance is a lot like upper society-there are rules and traditions that one is expected to follow. And let us not forget the little schemes and ulterior motives that come along with it."

Chapter 10: Cole's Dance
Cole's eyes almost popped out of his skull when he saw her. What in the world was she doing here?
Ailana stood stock still as Kayla engaged in a word sparring competition with Quinton. Her amber eyes swept the entire group, assessing and calculating. A shiver ran down Cole's spine when her gaze slowed to a stop right on Cole, Reed, and Fiera, who stood next to him.
All three of them stiffened as her gaze sharpened.
"I don't like her," Fiera muttered under her breath, unable to keep the suspicion out of her eyes as she stared back at the Potentia.
Reed rolled his head from side to side, cracking his neck. He didn't look all that nonplussed to see Ailana standing there. In fact, he looked excited. "I can't wait to see what she's made of."
Cole shot him a disbelieving look. "Seriously?"
Reed shrugged innocently. "Well, why not? The Des Moines family has been considered the most powerful house of Elementals for many generations now...I wonder how the heir apparent of this generation will face up against the youngest Elemental Dancer in history?"
Cole shook his head wildly, his mind flashing back to the amount of times he had foolishly done what Reed was planning on doing now-challenging a Des Moines without years of training. Reed trained, quite extensively, but even his rigorous training regime wouldn't be able to even make Ailana sweat. "No. Reed, don't you dare. She will wipe the floor with your ass and you won't be able to even lift a finger."
Reed glared at Cole. "Wow, thanks for the vote in self confidence!" Flashing a plastic smile at Cole, Reed flashed him a thumbs up. The sarcasm and mockery practically dripped off of Reed as Cole tried to stifle the urge to snap the boy's neck in half. "I can take her on."
Fiera shook her head, still locked in a staring contest with Ailana, even as Kayla and Quinton wrapped up their exchange and made their ways towards the group. "You could never beat that girl. She's...something else. Can't you feel it?"
Both Reed and Cole frowned in confusion. "Feel what?"
"The power she emanates. It's masked, but I could feel it from here even when she was still at the Great Hall. It's terrifying, the amount of potential just roiling under her skin. It's enough to make a normal Elemental burst."
