Part 14: Back Into Society

As the sunrise became visible in the cave, the shine from the cave walls made a perfect glare of light into everyone's eyes, waking them up earlier than they expected to. Everyone stretched and yawned like it was another day of isolation from everyone. After the stretching and the continuous cracking of bones stopped, silence fell upon them as they realized what the day had in store. They looked at each other with just stares as if they knew what each other were saying. After a few minutes of silence, it was broken.
"So! Who is ready for today." Summersaid slowly raising her hand. The others raised their hands and they still yawned and scratched their eyes.
"Maybe it won't be so bad...Ya know..Going back into society." Daniele said quietly. She looked around to see if anyone would agree, but they all just stared at the ground. "Come on people! Be somewhat happy! There are people out there who haven't seen us in awhile! We are gonna be able to see our other friends again!" Daniele said trying to sound excited.
"What's the point...If they were our friends.. wouldn't of they tried and contact us or called us...or did something to try and get a hold of us!? Let's face it...We are just better to just stay here." Summer said in discourage.
"No! Ever since this has happened..There has been nothing but trouble and just complete utter disaster! But now since we got the Government off our back and not having to deal with it... And actually getting a chance at life again..We give it a cold shoulder! What is wrong with us right now!?" Daniele said in surprise as she tries to convince them. They all glance at her, then back at the ground. Daniele stood up and dusted the stuff off her pants and shirt. "Well...whatever...stay here.. I'm going... I am taking this opportunity and try and get my life back... You guys have fun here." Daniele said ashamed of them. She grabbed her stuff and slowly started to head out of the cave entrance.
"Wait! Don't forget your little pal!" Tigey said standing up and running towards Daniele, stopping at her side. Daniele smiled and rubbed the top of Tigey's head.
"I always knew I could count on you to be at my side. Let's go.... We have a new life to start." Daniele smiled at Tigey. They walked out the entrance, leaving Summerand Steven.
As Daniele and Tigey walked on the cool soft grained sand, they listened to the sounds of the sea birds fly over head.
"Daniele? I have a question." Tigey said quietly.
"Sure! What's up?" Daniele said in a happy yet serious tone. Tigey sighed at the thought of what she was going to ask next.
"Daniele.. When.. we get back to society...You..you won't abandon me?" Tigey said in stutters. Daniele looked at her with a puzzled face.
"Why ever would you think that!?" Daniele stopped Tigey and keeled in front of her. " I would NEVER abandon you.. You are my little buddy..You have helped me get through this whole entire thing.. You taught me how to use my powers..You are my friend and my tutor.. I couldn't get through all this without you.." Daniele smiled as her eye teared up. Tigey looked at her in surprise of the answer. Tigey quickly hugs her.
"Thank you so much! You have no idea how much that means to me to hear you say that!" Tigey said with joy. Daniele stood up and looked down at Tigey.|
"Let's begin our new life." Daniele smiled, and Tigey smiled back. They began to walk again towards the tall buildings.As silence fell upon them again as Daniele and Tigey left, Summerlooks at Steven.
"Do you think we should have followed them?" Summersaid in a sad voice. All Steven could do is shrug. Summergets an angry look on her face.
"At least you could say something instead of shrugging! I was asking a question!" Summersnapped at Steven, causing him to look at her in disbelief.
"Well damn! I didn't realized everything that was said I needed to answer...You know..When you are stunned that one of your friends just walked out of you..You get to feel a little....shocked..I am actually thinking about getting up..getting my stuff..and catching up with them.." Steven responded.
"Now see... Was that so hard?" Summerasked with a smile. Steven purposely shrugs making Summerlose her smile. Steven gets up and gets his things, and without saying a word he walks to the entrance, he stops and looks back at Summer.
"Are you coming or are you waiting for an invitation?" Steven said. Summerlooks at him and lightly smiles. She quickly grabs her things and runs toward Steven side, they smile at each other and walk out of the cave. Daniele and Tigey reach the cool pavement, they looked up to see the big hotels and the smog. They look around their surrounding to see nobody in sight. They hear a noise behind them. They turn to see Steven and Summerjogging towards them.
"Hey! You thought you could just leave us in there?!" Summer said with a smile.
"Glad to see you two changed your minds.. I knew you couldn't just sit in that cave." Daniele playfully pushes Summer. They all laughed, but was interrupted by the sound of helicopters, which sent shivers down their spines.
"Those.. are just regular ones right?" Steven said curiously.
"I believe so.. Been awhile since I have seen one like that so...yeah...it is just a regular...I hope." Daniele said nervously, saying the last part quietly making sure nobody heard her. The helicopters fly pass them without stopping. They all mentally slap themselves to wake them from their daze. They turned to each other making sure everyone is there.
"Lets go!" Tigey said with a smile. They walked deeper into town and see busy cars fly by and listen to the loud noises of the horns and people talking.
"Been awhile! We need to get use to all this noise!" Daniele screamed over all the noise.
"Yeah! This is gonna be very awkward!" Summerreplied back. They walk around trying to find familiar places. They seemed to walked for what seemed like hour, until they came across their school.
"Thank god we found something familiar! DAMN!" Summer screamed.

"I know right! This is the only thing that seems right." Daniele gestured them all to follow her. They walk up to the school and see unfamiliar faces.
"Who are these people!?" Steven said.
"I hope you know that when we were gone for a couple moths it was during summer vacation. These are new students, plus with some people that are registering to their grade." Daniele said with smart tone. A teacher walks up to them and hands them papers.
"Here are your classes Ms. Daniele, here are yours Ms. Summer, and here are your Mr.Steven." They took the papers and looked at them. The teacher looks behind them a sees Tigey. "Ms. Daniele...You know the rules of no pets on school property... Especially exotic ones." Daniele looked at Tigey and looked at the teacher.
"Oh I am sorry... My parents weren't home and I didn't want her to get scared and lonely." Daniele said. The teacher shakes his head in agreement and walks away. Daniele turns to Tigey, smiles and winks.
"Thank you." Tigey said quietly and smiles. They begin to walk towards the entrance building doors, when someone quickly opens it and runs out, crashing into Daniele, causing them both to fall. The boy holds himself up in surprise to see he hasn't been punched yet.
"I am so sorry! I didn't see you there! Let me help you up!" The boy gets up and holds out his hand. Daniele looks at him, hold her head and takes his hand. She gets up and hold her head even more.
"It is fine. My head hurts though."
"Please don't hurt me." He responded quickly. Daniele looks at him in surprise.

"Um....Why would I hurt you.. It was a simple honest mistake...You didn't see where you were going..You are fine." Daniele said calmly. The boy take a breath of relief and holds his chest.
"Thank goodness! I thought you were gonna hit me or something! Sorry but most girls hit me." The boy said.
"Well that isn't right.. No girl should be hitting someone." Summersaid. The boy glanced at Summer and looked back at Daniele.

"Anyway... I am new here and I am lost as fuck! Can you help me?" He asked Daniele
"Yeah sure......um...whats your name?" Daniele asked in confusion.
"Oh.. I am sorry.. I am Matt...And what is your name?"
"I like that name.. I am Daniele...This is Summer .. This is my friend Steven... And this is my pet Tigey.." Daniele introduced everyone.
"Nice to meet you all.. Especially you Daniele.. And you look familiar." Matt said getting on his knees to look at Tigey. Tigey looks around and looks down.
"Hello Matt... Long time no see huh?" Everyone looks at Tigey in surprise.
"You know him!?" Daniele said in surprise. Tigey shook her head. "How!?"
"I use to try and teach him how to handle his powers. He has the same ones you do...From a meteor crash..Not the same one though...a..um...different one...long ago...when he was just a kid."
