Part 20: The Countdown (Day 1)

The morning sun rose and the dew in the grass sparkled. Tigey woke up to quiet footsteps going up the stairs and the rustling sound of a piece of paper sliding pass the doorway. She got up and stretched continuing to look at the white paper. She hurried up and walked over to the door and looked out, hoping to see the person, but she saw no one. She got a confused look and looked at the piece of paper. She picked it up and nudged Summer, slowly waking her up.
"Hmm?? T-Tigey...W-What are you doing??" Summer asked tiredly.
"Someone slid this into the doorway." Tigey said with the paper in her mouth. Summer quickly sat up and took the paper from Tigey's mouth, ignoring the saliva on it.
"DANIELE!" Summer screamed
"Ashley ! I am right here you don't have to scream! What is it!?" Daniele said crawling to Summer. 
"I think you needa read this..." Summer said calmly with a shocked face, handing Daniele the paper. Daniele took it and looked at it.
"Tigey... We have 4 days to get our powers down pat.. Can you do that?" Daniele looked at Tigey.
"It will be tough... But not impossible... Why?"
"Because they are coming back in 5 days... We need practice... And we are gonna start now" Daniele said getting up. "Summer... Tigey... Wake everyone up... Tell them to meet me in the backyard... Now!" Daniele quickly walked out of the room into the yard. Tigey went over to Matt and started shaking him, and Ashley started waking up Tony. They woke up and Tigey smacked Steven awake.
"Why did you do that!?"
"Backyard... Everyone... Now." Tigey said walking out the house. Everyone followed Tigey and saw Daniele pacing.
"Daniele.. What is wrong!?" Matt said running to Daniele.
"Everyone.." Daniele took a big breath. "We have a big big problem... We got a slip of paper saying that we better be ready in 5 days... The Government will be coming in 5 days... We needa learn our powers and be able to handle them and control them in 4.. This is a very serious issue... They know where we are.. They were able to bring us this paper.."
"How are we gonna be able to learn everything in 4 days?" Steven asked.
" We aren't gonna be able to... We need to learn the major parts... We need to learn enough to win.."
"Wait! How are we gonna be able to learn that stuff in 4 days?" Matt asked.
"We will be working hard for the next 4 days... We are gonna drink lots of water... Eat whenever our stomachs growls... And practice non- stop.."
"Do we still get our regular sleeping schedule like we have now?" Tony asked.
"No... We are gonna wake up at 6 and practice all day.. And go to bed around 9 when the sun sets.. Because I know with some powers they glow... and we don't wanna risk getting caught.."
"So.. we should start practicing now then.." Summer said.
"No.. We need food first... because we won't be able to concentrate well enough to learn the powers.."
"I will start getting the food.." Tigey said and walked to a shaded part in the yard. She began to spawn different types of food. She put down a big blanket and put up netting, so bugs couldn't get in. "Okay everyone... Everything is ready." 
"Come one everyone.. lets go eat." Daniele said and started walking to Tigey. Everyone followed and sat in a circle on the blanket. After a couple minutes of eating they all got up and Tigey made everything disappear, and walked to the middle of the yard.
"Okay everyone! You know what to do! Everyone concentrate and do what I told you!" Everyone got with a partner, Steven went with Tigey, Summer went with Tony, and Matt went with Daniele. They all went to different parts of the yard. They got the elements around them and started to practice. Everyone was mostly goofing off expect for Steven, Daniele, and Matt. Steven tried making shields and weapons, while Matt and Daniele sat by each other twirling around balls of elements, and flying them around each other laughing.
"We are getting good at this controlling our powers thing!" Daniele smiled at Matt. 
"Yeah! This is turning out quite nice.. me and you." Matt shyly smiled.
"You're cute when you're shy." 
"Awe really" Matt smiled
"Yes!" Daniele scooted closer to Matt.
"Daniele.. When this.. war thing is over... Lets use our powers and have a fun water fight."
"Well.. We can do that now!" Daniele grinned.
"I don't know if we shou..." Matt was interrupted by water being splashed at him and the sound of laughing. He wiped the water away and saw Daniele laughing.
"Oh now you're in for it." Matt smiled and threw water at Daniele, Splashing her back. 
"Aaahha!! That's cold!"
"Extra cold. Juuust for you!" Matt smiled. Daniele made another water ball, turned around and threw it back at him, hitting his chest. He made a few more and shot them towards Daniele. Daniele laughed and made a few more water orbs. She was about to throw them until something hard hit her and she fell to the ground. She opened her eyes and saw Matt on top of her happily giggling. 
"You having fun." Daniele smiled and blushed.
"This is fun. I haven't had this much fun in such a long time." Matt smiled, lightly blushed back, and he got closer to her.
"Yeah same here.. This is really ni.." She was interrupted by Matt softly kissing her. Daniele's face turned cherry red. He stopped kissing her and smiled. Daniele looked around and no one saw, She got out from under him and got a cool orb of water and put in on her face to cool her down.
"I am sorry." Matt says sadly. "I shouldn't have done that. I'll just go" Matt turned around to leave and Daniele grabbed his arm, pulled him towards her and hugged him really tightly. "Daniele... You are so warm... You are burning up!" Matt sits Daniele down and sits down next to her, He tried to look at her face but she kept turning away. "Daniele... please look at me.. I don't want you to be shy to look at me.. I won't kiss you again.. I'm sorry." 
"It isn't that... I don't want you too see how red my face is.."
"Please Daniele look at me.. Or I will pour cold water down your back." Matt said with a smile. Daniele giggled and looked at Matt with a smile, her face was blood red. "Wow. I must've made you blush a lot."
"Well... No one has ever kissed me before.. That was my first kiss." Daniele said quietly. Matt's eyes widened.
"Wow really?" 
"Yeah." Daniele made a water orb without Matt knowing. "Hey Matt.. Can I tell you something?"
"Yes.. of course! You can go ahead and tell me anything!" Matt said with a smile.
"SURPRISE!!!!" Daniele screamed and threw the water orb at him. 
"AAAHH!!" Matt fell down and started laughing."Why would you do that!" Matt said with a smile. 
"I don't know! I thought it would lighten the mood." Daniele smiled. 
"Well you started it again!" Matt laughed and threw a soft grass ball at her. Daniele laughed and threw a mud ball right back at him.
"Oh my clothes!" Matt looked at his shirt. Daniele threw a water orb at him and got sad.
"I'm sorry" Daniele sadly sat down. 
"I was joking. This was an old shirt." Matt made a mud ball and threw it at Daniele, hitting her head.
"Ahh!! Who turned out the lights!" Daniele screamed and laughed after. She wiped the mud away and threw a snow ball at Matt.
"ELEMENT FIGHT!!!" Daniele screamed and made mud balls and threw them at everyone. Everyone stopped in surprise and froze for a few seconds. Some laughed and made mud balls and threw them at the others, the others made really hot water balls to throw at them because they were mad. Tigey walked out of the house and saw everyone throwing element orbs at each other.
"Exactly what are you guys doing!? You should be practicing!" Tigey yelled. Everyone stopped where they were.
"Well we kinda are.. We are making element orbs and throwing them.. And some of us are using opposite elements to hit the orbs so they don't get hit.. It is a good way for aiming, learning the elements, and how to stop them." Daniele said looking around. Tigey walked down the stairs.
"Looks to me you guys are screwing around!" Tigey said angrily.
"Well yeah... We are having fun while also learning and practicing.. For show if you wanna blow something up you can make a fire ball and throw it at the explosive.. Or if you wanna trigger something but don't wanna get too close you can throw and earth stone or a snow ball." Steven said.
"It can make for a good weapon.. if you learn well enough you can make a boulder and crush people or crush something."
"Okay.. Okay.. I agree now that it is good practice.. But that DOESN'T mean to fuck around everyday like this! You will need to learn something other than throwing orbs at each other for a good laugh." Tigey scolded. "Today you can have your fun and throw the element orbs.. But tomorrow we will learn how to control our flying and invisibility. Okay?" Tigey said calmly. Everyone shook their heads with agreement. "Alright.. Now that we all agree.. Lets have fun!" Tigey made a few mud balls, a few water orbs and threw them at everyone. Everyone laughed, and started to throw element orbs at each other. From sunrise to sunset  they played around and had fun. As the sun grew closer and closer to the horizon, and everyone slowly got more and more exhausted.
"Okay everyone.. I think it is time that we turned in and got some sleep." Tigey said and yawned shortly after.
"Yeah." Everyone agreed. They slowly walked into the house murmuring to one another. They went into the house and sat down in their places.
"Daniele.. Thank you so much for today.. It was really fun.. We actually learned something today and we were able to use that for fun." Summer said with a big smile.
"I am glad you really liked today! I had fun too!" Daniele smiled back and glanced at Matt. Matt noticed and smiled back.
"Yeah.. I am going to go over to my little spot and go to sleep. Goodnight Daniele." Summer said with a tired smiled and went over by the stairs. Matt slowly pulled Daniele close to him and hugged her really tightly.
"Daniele.. Thank you for so much for today.. I really enjoyed it." Matt whispered into her ear. Daniele turned towards him and hugged him back.
"I had fun too." Daniele said back. They stopped hugging and looked at each other. Daniele looked around to see if anyone was looking, and she saw everyone was talking to others, she looked at Matt and quickly kissed him.
" That was a return from earlier." Daniele  smiled. "Come one.. Lets go to sleep" Daniele said quietly.
"Okay." Matt said quietly and smiled. "Lets go to bed, and tomorrow we can have more fun."
"Deal." Daniele smiled and got comfortable to go to sleep. Matt did the same and got comfortable. As Daniele closed her eyes she felt something warm wrap around her hand, she looked at her hand and saw Matt's hand. She looked up at him and saw him facing her smiling, she smiled back and closed her eyes. Matt smiled back and closed his eyes too. 
"Goodnight everyone!" Summer said out loud.
"Goodnight Summer!" Tony, Steven, and Tigey said back. They all got comfortable and slowly fell asleep. As the sun went down, the red and orange close in the sky turned into a clear starry night. The moon was high and bright in the sky and the crickets made their nightly noise. All the peaceful for once.
