-Lance-
"Are you sure this is a good idea Lance?" Hunk Hesitantly whispers as he follows behind me.
I roll my eyes and keep walking through the dark halls of the Galaxy Garrison. "Stop worrying Hunk. Everything's gonna be just fine. All we're doing is sneaking out, going to town and finding some hot girls to hang with." I whisper yell looking back at the big guy.
It felt as if each step was fueled by adenine, each breath heavier, shorter and the beating of my heart going faster. In this moment I felt almost like one of those comic book superheroes. The type of heroes that are good at school, they're strong, handsome and get any girl that they want. In all reality I know I'm not one of those big strong heroes. In fact I'm just some boy from Cuba. A boy that dreams of something more than what he actually was.
I stand there outside of the dorm and bring my hand up to knock softly on the door. It opens slightly and I can clearly see that nobody's home. "Must have had the same idea." I look back at Hunk and I can clearly see the sweat dripping from his face. He's too nervous about this whole sneaking out thing but if we were sneaking out and to the kitchen then he'd have no problems with it. For Hunk anything was okay if food is involved.
"Come on, let's go an check Y/n's dorm." I whispered and took another few steps away from Pidge's dorm to Y/n's. She was surely going to answer. I'm betting on it. I'm betting on her. I begin to knock and the door carefully swings open. Then I see her. She's smiling and has a bag in her hands. "Hello Lance, Hunk." She whispers as she closes the door to her dorm.
I think that I maybe falling in love with her. Y/n is the type of girl that you wake up and thank the Universe for even existing everyday. She's the type of girl that you write books, songs and poems about. The type of girl that you can ignore no matter what. I think the crazy thing is that when she first met me she actually didn't hate me or at the very least think I was annoying like most people do. In fact I think she was flirting with me.
"You coming or are you both just gonna stand there?" She looks back at the two of us. I mindlessly follow behind her. She climbs up this latter and opens up a hatch that leads to the roof. As she opens the hatch I can see the stars framing her body perfectly. A chill runs through my entire body. I feel the hairs on the back of my neck and on my arms stand straight up.
"It's kinda cold." She says underneath her breath. Making me regret not giving her my jacket sooner. "Here. This should help." I say taking off of my jacket and handing it to her. "Lance... You didn't have to do that for me." She looks at me with pleading eyes and then her gaze slowly drifts back to the jacket in my hand.
"You said you were cold and you know it's the right thing to do." That sounded so stupid. I'm stupid. She smiles softly and takes my jacket. I feel my cheeks getting hot as she stood there wearing my jacket. "Thank you." She says, looking down at her feet. "No problem." I should just super glue my mouth shut.
"Hey guys what is Pidge doing up here?" Hunk asks, cutting the growing tension between me and Y/n. I smirk and sneak up behind him. Pidge had this computer thing sitting in front of him and a pair of headphones on. I lightly grab one side of the headphones and lift them lightly. "Whatcha doing?" I ask. He jumps like four feet up in the air and screams. "Lance!" I laugh a bit now holding the headphone in my hand.
Who knew that the little guy was that jumpy? "What is all of this?" Y/n asks. She carefully examines everything that was once in front of the little guy. Then she picks up a notebook. "What's Voltron?" As the word 'Voltron' slips from Y/n's lips, I get this weird gut feeling. Like it's important or like I've heard it before.
"It's a long story." Pidge says then taking the notebook straight form Y/n's hands. "I've got time to listen." She says softly. I notice that her gaze is soft and caring. Am I jealous? I'd like her to look at me like that.
"Okay... I came up here to listen to alien radio chatter and tonight they've been repeating the word Voltron. I have reason to believe that it's some sort of super weapon that they're looking for." My mouth drops wide open.
"Pidge are you like high or something?" I ask. Y/n smiles a bit. I made her smile. I did it. Nobody else did but me. "I mean... It does sound crazy but I can believe it. In fact I know that he's telling the truth." Y/n says with furrowed brows. What is she talking about? How does she know it? "What do you mean Y/n?" I ask. Please Y/n, give me a reasonable answer.
"I mean, there's so much that we just don't know yet. There's endless possibilities of what is actually possible." She explains. Makes sense I guess. "Back on topic. Tonight they're saying Voltron like crazy which leaves me to believe that something big will happen-" Pidge begins to explain before getting cut off by Hunk. "Uh guys- what's that in the sky up there?" I look up only to see what seems to be a ship crashing through the Earth's atmosphere.
It's a blaze and falling fast onto the Earth. I look to my right and make eye contact with Y/n. Her face tells me everything I need to know. She's concerned. I try my best to give her a look of reassurance but I'm pretty bad at comforting people. I look down at the binoculars that Pidge is holding and I grab them to take a closer look at the ship. Then my gaze flickers to the ground. "Oh come on... It can't be him." I say in frustration.
"What are you taking about?" Pidge asks an I roll my eyes. "Keith Kogane." I say crossing my arms and looking down. "Oh Keith." I hear Y/n whisper underneath her breath. Why does she care? Keith isn't all that important anyway. She shouldn't care, I shouldn't care. "Who's Keith?" Pidge asks. "My enemy." I answer. "Why?" He asks.
"No reason." There was in fact a reason. Keith always tried to steal Y/n from me. Always flirting with her. Probably just trying to get underneath my skin. He always tried his best to out shine everyone else and always got all of the attention through being a show off and getting into trouble. The type of trouble that most kids would get kicked out for but he never did because the legendary pilot Takashi Shirogane was always there to save him. That's another thing that Keith had that I wanted. Shiro was my hero and Keith was close to him. I swear anything that I wanted and worked for Keith got for free.
"Y/n where are you going?" Pidge called out. I looked around and then saw Y/n running to the crash site. Is she doing this because of Keith or because she's interested in the crash? Who am I kidding she's doing it for Keith. Why would she not? I mean he's better, stronger, smarter and girls always go for the loner bad boys and that's just what Keith is. A loner bad boy. If our roles were reversed she wouldn't go after me. I know she wouldn't because if this was a show or a movie or maybe even a book, I'd be the comedic relief side character. Girls like her don't go for comedic relief side characters like me.
