-Lance-
"Hey Lance! Thanks for sparing with me." Pidge called out as I made my way down the hall. "Yeah no problem. I'll see you later though." I said walking just a bit faster.
Okay so I'll just go knock on Y/n's door. Then ask if she wants to hang out a bit before bed. Then if she says yes then I'll take her to the top floor with the glass ceiling so we can be underneath the stars. Okay. I got this. I can do it.
I stood there like a deer in head lights at her door. After taking a few deep breaths I finally knocked and as the door opened there she was. She smiled and all I've gotta say is wow. If she smiled just once at the Galra then I'm pretty sure she'd bring peace to the whole universe.
"Hey Lance. Is there anything you need?" She asked. This is my chance. "Yes actually. Would you like to hang out with me for a bit?" I asked in return to her question. "I'd love to." She walked out of her room and as the door closed behind her in was finally setting in that it would just be me and her alone.
"So where are we going?" She asked as she walked beside me. "The top floor of the castle." I vaguely answered. We reached the elevator and I instantly pressed the button to the top floor. I could feel perspiration down my back and my hands started shaking slightly.
Oh God please let this go well. We reached the top floor in just a few seconds but before getting off the elevator I had to make sure I do just one thing. "Here close your eyes." I said walking up behind her and placing my hands over her eyes. "Come on Lance." She giggled a bit and hesitantly walked forward off the elevator.
"Just trust me." I said with a smile. "Okay walk, walk, walk, walk. Stop!" I said as I guided her to the middle of the room. I wanted her to get the full effect of the ceiling and all the starts."Open your eyes in 3...2...1." I lifted my hands away from her eyes and watched her face light up as soon as her eyes met the stars.
"Lance this is... How did you find this room? When'd you have the time?" Y/n asked finally looking back at me. I just smiled. "I come up here whenever I need a break or when I just miss home because the stars remind me of the ones back on Earth, except here they're just a bit brighter."
I took a seat on the floor and laid down on my back to look up at the stars. Y/n quickly doing the same. "Do you miss home now?"She asked. My eyes widened a bit as I was taken back by the question.
"Yeah but not as much as when I'm alone and really thinking about it." I answered. I felt her hand find it's way to mine. "I get that." She said. Sometimes I feel like Y/n just gets everything. I think that's one of the things I admire most about her. She is supportive, caring, and comforting to be around.
I swear just being in her presence is like medicine that can cure anything and everything. "Do you think we'll ever see Earth again?" I asked. "I'm assuming at some point we will get to go back but I don't know if we will go back any time soon... Lance we've found ourselves in a ten thousand year long war. It's going to take a lot to end it and bring peace to the Universe." She answered.
I knew she was telling the truth as it is no matter how hard it was to hear. It's just gonna take me sometime to accept it though. "I'm sorry that was kind of harsh." She said then letting go of my hand. "No. No, your right. About everything." I said taking her hand back into mine.
We stayed there like that for what felt like only minutes but in reality it was more like hours. We talked about everything and anything. At first we talked about home, then our families, and finally the future.
I ended the night off by walking her back to her room. But it was only when I was back in my own when I felt the regret of not telling her about how I feel about her.
