* "Maybe there aren’t any happily ever afters, or white knights who ride in on valiant steeds to save the day. Maybe, in real life, Prince Charming isn’t always perfect – he’s just as flawed as everyone else in the tale. And that princess, alone in her tower? She’s not perfect either. Birds don’t braid her hair every morning, she can’t serenade wild forest creatures into servitude, and she doesn’t even own a ball gown. But she’s also smart enough to know not to accept poisoned apples from strangers, or prick her finger on deadly spindles.
She doesn’t wait around for a prince to charge in and slay the dragon. Maybe she saves herself and in the end, rides off into her own ... sunset." Elena read to her daughter, who was now soundly asleep. Closing the book, she kissed the girl on the temple,"Good night, sweety."
"So, there isn't happy ever afters?" Elijah said as he walked in the room.
"I don't know - but we can work hard to have it. And in our case - we saved one another. And I got my Prince Charming." Elena smiled, walking over to Elijah and gave him a peck. "I'd like to teach her that she the world is not so clear cut. But also that the fairytales have a great moral at the end nevertheless."
"You definitely were not a demsel in distress, that's for sure. I agree - we need to teach her to have her own mind." Elijah said.
"Yeah - in my case -I wouldn't want to ride off alone in the sunset, though it's perfectly fine if someone wants to."
"I wouldn't want to ride off alone either." Elijah said gazing at her lovingly.

"I can't express how much I love you." he said pulling her close to him.
"I love you, too - and nothing will stop us from getting married tomorrow." Elena said softly before she pressed her lips onto his.

Their wedding as well as the one of Caroline and Klaus was a celebration of love. Love for one another and of all those who came to share it with uthem. It was a day of reaffirming their bonds. Celebrating their oaths- always and forever.

* 'Somehow, miraculously (or rather helped by the good in this world) everything had fallen into place as it was supposed to all along. Through heartbreak and sorrow, sacrifice and drudgery, through hope lost and hope regained. Now everything was mostly about joy. And through all the ups and downs, the tears and bittersweet lessons, gradually life transformed into the most deliciously sweet, perfectly imperfect second chance.' Elijah wrote in his Journal.
"Knock, knock," Elena said as she walked in the room, "the car is here. Ready for the honeymoon?"
"I am more than ready." Elijah said and put the Journal in the desk.
As the shared a loving kiss, the both walked out, to a very deserved time off.
Family was what both Elijah and Elena lived for. But that could also be said for all of the Mikaelsons and their respective spouses.
All the festivities, different family celebrations were always a memorable time.
Living happily ever after was the order of the day.
