Caroline woke up, and for the first time in days, Klaus was nit there beside her.
"Klaus?" she called, but there was no one there. Disappointed a bit, she got up, and went to the bathroom. She showered and got a change of clothes, and tried to call Klaus, using now the stream of her gift as a medium. But again, he was not there. She wasn't realky worried, but they were not in New Orleans, where his body was, and she now wondered if somehow the link broke.
Huffing, she took all her belongings and went downstairs to pay the bill.
Damon, who ran the B&B stood talking with Bonnie at the reception area.
"So, Elena is in Salem? And she will stay there?" Damon was surprised to hear the news.
"Elijah's niece has long six weeks of recovery. And he is renting a house. I so want to visit her. I want to talk to her about the wedding-"
Caroline, approaching couldn't help overhearing the conversation.
"Sorry- I didn't mean to be nosy- and you will probably find this weird - but than again what is weird"
Both Damon and Bonnie looked at the blonde a bit gone out. "I guess you know Elena?"
"Yes. Why?" Bonnie asked.
"Oh- well, I know her, too."- Caroline now explained that she was from New Orleans, and how she had met Elena. And that she was on her way to Salem to see Hope.
"Wow, what a coincidence," Bonnie said,"and she never told you that she was from Mystic Falls?"
"No. We only met a few times. But, we kind of made friends straight away. Of course, Hope bei g the one that connected us really." Caroline replied.
The women than sat down for breakfast and spike some more, Bonnie telling Caroline more about Elena.
"So, how is this Elijah really. Sorry to ask you this - ahm- but I've never seen Elena fall head over heels with someone that quickly. It's almost like someone put a spell on her." Bonnie said.
"Elijah has this effect-" Caroline said and now told all the good qualities about Elijah, skipping the cold-hearted part of his character, not wanting to alarm Elena's friends, since she now knew about the enchantment. She did add this though, "His brothers and sister dying - made him close himself up from the world."
They chatted some more about Bonnie and Damon's wedding as Caroline asked who was getting married, having heard a wedding being mentioned, to kind of change the subject a bit.
They parted with Caroline being invited to the wedding.
And as Bonnie and Damon went back to the house, Caroline stood in front of her car, now whispering, "Klaus, where are you? We got to go!"
And just like a wind, coming out of nowhere, he appeared behind her, "I am here, love"
