The simmer of the sunlight alight the glossy windows, the wind whistled a salty, sadden tune.
Two boys stood, five feet apart, once stared with a harden and broken look, disgusted with the (h/c) male in front of him.
"I love you." The male cried, tears streaming down as fast as a waterfall but as quiet as a still lake.
"You lie so beautifully. It's mesmerising." The red-haired boy smiled with stone cold daggers, only pain in his eyes as he did so.
They stared at each other for so, so long. No movement, no words, just the sound of the wind brushing against the trees.
The shorter/taller boy was stuck in a trance, the thoughts racing through his head quicker than ever before, Tendou just stared on, unspoken and solemn to the boy's teary eyes that only shown sadness. The thoughts spiralled, it was too late. It wasn't always like this, it wasn't supposed to end up this way. They both loved each other so deeply. They were captivated by one another and they believed nothing would ever change, nothing would ever come between them. Why, WHY, did those pesky, annoying feelings have to change that? Tendou was so amazing, he was everything (Y/N) dreamed of. He laid awake at night, constantly stuck in day dreams about a wonderful boy who'd eventually come into his life and sweep him away. Take him away from all his pain. But suddenly, those illusions stopped, they meant nothing. They were bittersweet and broken love songs that would sing in his head on repeat, nothing would ever change. Tendou would never love someone like him.
(Y/N) opened his mouth, no words came out, nothing could get passed his throat no matter how hard he tried. Tendou just watched, watched as the love of his life slipped further and further in a darken pit he could never help him get out of.
"I love you." The words were uttered so faintly, so meaninglessly. The red head's facial expression's changed, once a painful expression shifted into that of sadness.
Back to silence.
The silence lasted far too long and suddenly there was the sound of footsteps, getting quicker and quicker until those measly five feet apart turned into four, three... two.
One.
Now to none.
The boys stared deeply into each other's eyes, the same eyes that shared so many moments.
"Why are you lying to me? You look so broken, as if you really do mean the words you say. But you look so beautiful, it's so hard to tell the difference."
The silence was back. The wind began to whistle louder, it got colder and colder, the tears were drying and it felt icy against the (s/t) male's face. The once orange sky filled with wonderfully different hues dimmed, the ever changing landscape matching the two boy's emotions.
"I'm not lying! I wouldn't lie to you! Please, please believe me, Satori! I'm in love with you!" The male pleaded, as if his life was being threatened, and in a way it really was. Satori stared, never blinking, never speaking, just stared onwards at his former best friend. "I wish you really meant your words. All I want his to hear those words mutter by your beautiful voice, spoken only to me. But we both know you're lying. Please stop hurting yourself."
(L/N) let out a shaky breath and shut their eyes tightly, not wanting to look at Tendou's expressionless face any longer.
A minute went by, then another. The sky became darker and darker, the wind grew quiet.
"I love you, (Y/N)."The silence was back, only for a moment.
"I wish I told you sooner."
"Told me sooner...? Why?"
Tendou stayed silent and shut his eyes, a few tears falling from his eyes. The silence grew more, no one spoke. Suddenly you could only hear one person's breathing. Suddenly there was none. Then two, then... one.
Only Tendou Satori could be heard.
The red haired open his eyes again, (Y/N) no longer stood in front of him. But... a small grave stone did.
"I wish I told you sooner." The boy whispered once again, "Before... I could break your heart, before I broke my own. Would you still love me now, (Y/N)? After all this time?"
No one answered his question."You would never lie to me. You were a terrible liar, I knew that. Your eyebrows always raised, your ears would turn red... Your bottom lip would quiver. I knew all of the signs. You never did any of them. You loved me."
More tears rained down, staining the dirt a darker hue of brown as it dampen. Satori's tears continued, small verbal sobs leaving his lips at the quietness he would never grow accustom to.
The silence came back. No more sobs were heard, no wind whistling bitterly at the broken love.
No one stood in front of the gravestone any longer. No one ever stood there for long.
But every year, somehow, the gravestone would always look much cleaner than before. The flowers would be replaced, the offerings would be replaced.
But there was only ever silence.
