"Mommy. Who was Andy?" Connor asked as I tucked him in.
I sighed. "Andy was a friend of mine when I was a teenager. He's a lawyer. He also helps grandma and grandpa with some things too."
"I like him. Does daddy know him?"
I smiled. "Maybe. I'm not sure."
"Can you call daddy so that I can say goodnight?"
"Of course. I bet he will love hearing from you handsome."
I pulled up his number on my phone and dialed it for FaceTime. He answered fairly quickly.
"Hey." He said. He was sitting in his bed.
"Hi. Connor just wants to say goodnight." I said.
I turned the camera so that Connor could talk to his dad. He took the phone. "Hi daddy."
"Hey bud. How's grandma and grandpas?"
"Good! I met a nice man named Andy!"
"Andy who?"
"Momma?" Connor asked.
"Barber, Adam. He was a year older than you."
"Oh Andy! Yes I know him. I thought he was living in Boston or around boston though. Something happen?"
"Apparently him and his wife split." I said as I laid in bed with Connor.
I did love Adam. I always would. He was an amazing dad, and when we were together he was an amazing husband. He was still amazing towards me, and we got along really well. He would always be one of my best friends.
I just wasn't in love with him anymore. He wasn't in love with me either. We were okay with it. He had met a nurse already, and he had been out on a bunch of dates with her.
I was happy for him. He was happy with whatever I chose. I hadn't dated anyone in these eight months, but that was okay.
Connor rested his head on my chest.
"Daddy?"
"Yeah bub."
"Is mommy gonna date Andy like you date Claudia."
"Oh dear lord." I said.
Adam laughed. "That's up to your mom. She gets to do what she wants. Remember mommy and I love each other but we aren't husband and wife anymore."
Connor nodded and smiled. He was a smart boy. He was kind and generous and he was mature.
He knew that Adam and I weren't technically together anymore. We had separate rooms. But we were there for him. Connor was our world.
Adam kissed the phone. "You look tired Connor. Get some sleep big guy."
"Night night dad." He said.
"Goodnight dad." I said. He smiled and waved before hanging up.
I smiled and looked at Connor. He rested his head on my chest.
"I like grandma and grandpas house." Connor said. I kissed his head.
"Me too baby."
"Do you like Andy?"
"Umm. I did at one point. When I was in highschool."
"Was he nice then?"
"I- well...yes. He was."
"Did you date him? Mommy and Andy sitting in a tree k-i-s-s-i-n-g."
