"Shouldn't you be with your parents the day after Christmas?" Andy asked as he brought my present over and sat down on his couch. My present for him was in my lap.

"No. They think I'm just out with friends."

"Rory." He said disapprovingly. I smiled and traded gift bags with him.

"It's mid Christmas Day. We don't do much right now. My mom knows that I'm delivering presents to friends and that's all she needs to know." I said.

He chuckled and opened his present. I got him a new flannel, some new cologne and a little chain.

"Rory. Babe this is too much...."

"No it's not. I never get you presents so I thought that now should be the time."

"Aurora seriously I didn't get you enough now."

I smiled and opened the present. He got me a little necklace with his name engraved on the back of a diamond.

"Andy..."

He smiled softly. "I can go buy you an outfit or whatever too I just- I saw it and it seemed like you would wear-"

I pulled him into a tight hug, making him fall back on the couch.

He burst out laughing. I hugged him tighter. "Thank you. I love you."

"I love you too."

I pulled away and moved to let him put the necklace on me. I put the little chain on him too.

"It's perfect." I whispered. He pulled me into a long kiss.

I kissed him back, feeling so happy. He was so perfect.

All mine.

I woke up to Connor getting on the bed. I smiled and pulled him in.

"Morning bub."

"Morning mommy."

"Did you sleep well?" I asked. He nodded.

"Are you going Christmas shopping with Andy?"

I nodded and kissed his head.

"I think grandma made breakfast." I said.

"I ate."

"Okay early riser." I said and smiled. I pushed his shaggy hair out of his face.

"Aurora! Andy's here get up!...Andy she's fine just-"

I looked up to see Andy and my mom at the door. I gasped and put the blankets over Connor and I.

"I look like shit!" I said. Connor giggled.

"Shit." Connor said. I moved the blankets down. Andy and my mom were laughing.

"You two. Out." I said. I picked Connor up. "Go with grandma. I'll be ready in ten."

"Mommy and Andy sitting in a tree k-i-s-s-"

"Connor Adam." I said. He giggled and went to Andy. He picked him up.

I smiled softly in bed. Andy looked at me and smiled.

I sighed and got up. My mom shut the door.

Oh god what am I getting myself into?

•••

Andy led me into a little shop on Main Street.

"So what's first for you?"

"Perfume for my mom." I said. "I'm hoping they have the one she likes."

"You're good with scents aren't you?" Andy asked. I smiled softly.

"I'd like to think so." I said as I looked through and found her scent.

"I still use the one you got me back when we..when we dated. The same exact cologne I've just bought over and over again all these years."

I looked up at him.

"Really?" I asked as I put the bottle of perfume in our cart that he was driving.

"Mhm."

"Did Laurie never buy you cologne. I feel like that's weirdly my love language is choosing a scent for someone that reminds me of them."

"She did. Yeah but nothing compared." He said as he read my list. "Oh god and birth control on here too?"

I snatched the list up. "It's for my hormones."

He nodded and smiled. It was.

I looked over at the list as Andy put a few things in the cart. Little things like deodorant and body wash.

"So...what are you getting Connor?" Andy asked.

"There's a new train set he wants, a new sweatshirt, some little board games, and some action figures." I said.

"Oh gosh I should see if I have any of jacobs old toys." Andy said.

"Yeah." I said as I grabbed some things from my list, reaching for one of them.

Andy came up behind me and helped me grab the item for me.

"Shorty." He whispered in my ear. I bit my lip and smiled. He was close to me.

Until I pulled away and put something in the cart.

It sorta felt like we picked up where we had left off. Then again he left with no warning when we were younger.

"Rory?"

No one called me Rory except for him.

I looked up at Andy. He showed me a little stuffy of a dog.

"Look." He said. I smiled.

"That one can be from you." I said.

"Aweee."

He continued walking with me.

"Andy?" I asked. He looked over at me.

"Yeah."

"Why do I feel like we never left off?"

"Maybe we didn't leave off."

"Well we both fell in love with other people and we had kids and-"

"Rory you can fall in love with someone who isn't your soulmate."
