It was quiet now. I sat in the guest room bed. Connor was asleep. I just quietly watched tv.
I was tired, but I couldn't seem to fall asleep. I knew it was extremely late.
I just stared at the tv. Until I heard rustling.
I looked over. And there, was Andy, climbing through the guest window.
Again I thank the lord that my parents bedroom is upstairs. Connor likes their chair that takes them up.
I just smiled.
"I have a door." I whispered.
"It's locked. And your phone is on do not disturb."
"I'm sleeping."
"No you're not." Andy whispered as he took off his shoes and jacket. He shut the window and got into bed with me. I chuckled and pulled him close to me as he shivered.
"Cold outside?"
"Oh yes." He said. I chuckled.
I turned off the lamp beside me, keeping the tv on.
"Don't you work tomorrow?" I asked.
"Yeah but I don't care. I'll get out on time." He said as he set an alarm.
I sighed and played with the curly strands of his hair. He leaned into my touch.
I smiled and kissed his head. He leaned back and laid down. I laid with him, sighing softly.
"Why aren't you sleeping actually?" He asked.
"I don't know."
"Do you miss sleeping next to me?" He asked playfully.
"No." I whispered and chuckled. He rolled his eyes, making me giggle.
I kissed his forehead and laid fully back. He swiftly moved me to my side and spooned me. I smiled and curled up more, fitting his body perfectly.
"Get some sleep beautiful. I railed you earlier and you only got an hour of sleep." He whispered in my ear. I groaned.
"Don't be gross."
"All these years, getting married, having a child, and you still can't speak on the topic of sex." He said. I smiled to myself.
"Well..."
"Goodnight. I work in the morning." He whispered.
"Sneak back out of my house on time." I said. He chuckled and kissed my neck.
"Love you." He said.
"Love you too."
•••
I woke up to the sound of shuffling. I turned, feeling soft warm lips on my cheek, a beard lightly scratching my cheek as well. I smiled and pulled the blankets up around me more.
"I've gotta leave. I'll see you later." Andy whispered in my ear.
"Mmmm." I whispered.
Andy hugged me softly. My eyes were still closed. I scratched his back softly.
"No you can't that makes me wanna stay." He said.
"Mmm."
He sat up. I opened my eyes. He was smiling.
"Love you." I whispered. He pecked my lips before opening my window and leaving. I sighed and watched as he left.
I missed him already.
I would never admit that this past week I've gotten more sleep than usual with him around. And that I really needed him here last night, so I was happy.
It reminded me so much of old times.
"Andrew my parents are upstairs." I whispered as he climbed through my window. He chuckled and took off his shoes and socks, as well as his shirt, leaving him in just his sweats.
He got on top of me and kissed me. "I brought you some snacks. I know you're on your period." He whispered on my lips. I smiled.
"I love you." I whispered. He grabbed his backpack and pulled out the candy and drinks.
•••.
Andy had fallen asleep next to me, his arm around my waist, and his head on my collarbone. I played with his hair, lightly twirling it.
Everything we did in secret scared me, but I would go anywhere for him. His soft skin, his big blue eyes, his laugh, his smile. Sometimes I wondered what our children would look like if we had any. Cute for sure.
"Rory. Get some sleep." Andy said as he pulled me in more. I smiled and tucked myself closer to him.
"You have to be out early though." I whispered.
"Oh I know." He whispered.
I sighed and kissed his head. He smiled and hugged me closer. He was so warm. Perfect.
"I can't wait to marry you one day." Andy whispered.
•••
"Mommy we should visit Andy today!" Connor said as I handed him a juice box.
"Should we?" I asked. "Do you have a case you need solved in court?"
He gave me a confused look. I laughed and pulled out my phone. "I'll tell him we're coming."
He cheered. I smiled softly.
