CHAPTER 6:
"Char. Pay attention. I was asking how we are supposed to ask new boy for a tour of the neighborhood."
She snuck one last look at the boy.
"How are we gonna do it, Char?
Charlotte thought for a minute.
" We'll just wait until we're all walking home together, and ask him then."
"What if he doesn't ride the bus?"
"Well," Charlotte said "did the ride the bus this morning?"
"I don't know. I wasn't paying attention."
"If he doesn't ride the bus, we'll think of something else."
"Okay"
But Charlotte was already trying to think of a new plan and couldn't hear her.
She let her eyes wander for inspiration, and the landed upon the guy. If they had any classes with him, she could ask him then...
What would be a good approach?
"Hey, you're cute, and live next door. I will show you around where you live and seduce you with my social awkwardness. My name is Charlotte."
No.
How about: "Hi, I'm Charlotte. You just moved in next door to me. Me and my friend Mel could how you around it you want us to."
That sounded creepy stalkery.
But she had no better options.
Sigh.
