CHAPTER 20
Charlotte spent the next day "telling" everyone she was leaving for a while and not to worry. She went up to her adopted mother, and nearly started crying. "Hey mom, remember that semester away thing I signed up for?" Charlotte had made it up on the spot, so of course her mom wouldn't. But her mom just said, "maybe, I'm not sure. I think so." She spun a tail about her getting accepted and then kissed her on the cheek and left.
She tried not to look back as she left life as she knew it behind. Toward the unknown with only Will, who she barely even knew, much less trusted. She would have to be strong.
She failed.

Okay, I know it's really short. But I wanted to capture the moment and I didn't want to stretch it too thin. Charlotte needed a clean break, and I didn't want to mess it up.
