CHAPTER 9:
She met Melly by her locker. Charlotte could open it, but was too lazy to. Because of that, about half the school knew her combination. But she didn't mind. There was nothing for them to take except textbooks.
Melly finally showed up. Charlotte wanted to be alone with Jonathan, but also didn't. She didn't want to seem creepier and more awkward than she already did. But she really wanted to be alone with him. That sounded creepy. It was so she could stare at his eyes without being disturbed by other people.
She definitely wanted that.
So when Melly started bringing it up, Charlotte thought "you don't want to go" with all her might. She didn't really expect it to work, but, in sone great coincidence, Melly said "You know what? I have tons of homework. I don't think I can go."
Charlotte was surprised. It had been her idea to show him around in the first place. But she didn't press the issue, as she wanted to go alone.
"Oh too bad. I'm probably going to, I don't know, trip and die." This wasn't going to happen, as Charlotte was unbelievably graceful, but she could die of awkwardness.
"Well, let's go get on the bus before it leave and we have to walk."
They got on the bus and rode home, Jonathan one row ahead, on the other side of the bus.
Much easier to stalk.
