CHAPTER 7:
For Charlotte, school that day was a blur. Until she got to her last period class.
"Hello Class. We have a new student." her elderly English teacher was screeching at them "his name is Jonathan."
Ah, no more referring to him in her head as "mysterious cute new guy"
"Jonathan, you will sit by..."
Charlotte watched her face attentively. It would be easier to stalk him unnoticed from across the room.
"How about Charlotte?"
"Who's Charlotte?" He asked. He had a slight accent. Maybe, British?
"Charlotte's over there. Why don't you wave or something?"
Charlotte waved.
He sat down in the chair. She snuck a look at him, pretending to be doodling in her notebook. He had cute little freckles on his face.
He really was attractive. And looking right at her. She blushed.
Once more; Guys.
"Can I borrow a pencil?" He asked.
"Yeah, if I have one."
Charlotte rummaged through her bag. She grabbed a pencil. When she handed it to him, their fingers brushed. She felt like she has touched a doorknob after rubbing herself on carpet. It almost hurt.
He really was cute though. What was it? His eyes? His hair? She wondered if he had an interesting personality.
She supposed she would find out if he agreed to go on the tour with Melly.
How would she ask? Whatever.
"So, Jonathan.. You moved in next door to me, right?"
"Why must I be so socially awkward?" Charlotte thought.
"I think so... Why?" He looked a little scared.
"Well, my friend and I were wondering if you wanted to go on a tour if the neighborhood? Maybe today or tomorrow?"
"Sure. I think today'll work"
Success.
