Kamaile

Alohi entered the grove, a little after dusk. A smile still plastered on her face, she didn't notice that the entryway had already been opened.

That is until.

Someone cleared their throat.

Alohi looked up and staring back at her was....

Her father?

"Pa!" she exclaimed, literally jumping into his arms.

"Kealohilani" he smiled "ihea oe hele kānei?" He asked her, where had she gone?

"Au'au wai" she replied. Not completely lying to her father but purposely leaving out the part, that she wasn't alone.

He could already sense that there was something she wasn't saying.

"You've come to visit or?" Alohi questioned. Opting for a smooth segue.

Her dad was always vague when it came to visits and well, everything.

"A'ole, I'm finally taking you home with me." Ho'omana replied.

"Home as in?" Alohi countered. The chief had to admit, his daughter wasn't an easy one, she took after her mother in that sense. Always questioning his motives.

"Manā" he sighed.

"Yes!" She shouted. So happy to hear. The day she had waited for had finally arrived, but yet.

There was, Kililau

I mean, they were just friends. Right?

Or was there more?

Now she was conflicted.

She felt something she never felt before.

"Kealohilani?"

"Yes Pa" she smiled, trying not to seem distracted.

"Mahea o Tutu Hali'i?" Ho'omana asked her.

"Kipa oiā me kona hoa'loha mā nou'nou" Alohi replied, explaining that Tutu had gone to visit a friend in nou'nou. She helped her dad with his ukana, or luggage into the house and got him settled.

The plan would be to leave Kamaile by the end of the week. By then, Ho'omana wouldl be able to decipher if Alohi had learned all that she needed to.

What was that exactly?

The medicinal components of lā'au lapa'au as well as understanding the spiritual side, and when to use it and when not to.

Understanding that physical touch was also very important in feeling someone else's energy, as well as transferring that energy to oneself and that wasn't always a good thing.

To be mindful of all these things is exactly what the Chief wanted his one and only child to know and understand.

But does she?

Ho'omana was counting on it.

"Kililau!" A voice beckoned from outside the hale. At first, Kili thought his dad was testing him yet again, as he did with training tactics.

But, it wasn't his dad or anyone familiar to him, it was a complete stranger.

"Kililau?" The stranger asked.
"Ae" Kililau nodded.

"'O wau no o Kūpa'a,
hoa'loha no kou papa" he introduced, saying he was a friend of Ha'ikū. Kililau greeted Kūpa'a with Hā and invited him into the Hale. Malanai & Hilina'i went to the stream to relax and would return shortly.
