You awoke the next morning before dawn, by the deep, rumbling sound of thunder. Still feeling exhausted from yesterday's events, you were ready to head back towards Sanctuary for some rest and to continue work on your Power Armor repairs.

There were dark clouds brewing high above you, making you concerned about getting back before the next wave of thunderstorms caught up with the two of you. As usual, your radio was playing as you travelled along the long journey back home.

From time to time whenever you would travel, you'd hear MacCready humming along to the songs behind you. This always made you grin especially when it was one of your favorites, although you never let him see. You knew that he would probably get embarrassed and stop.

He's not humming today. You noticed.

By the time you had neared Concord, it had been barely drizzling for a while, but you were no longer worried about making it back before the weather turned extreme. Sanctuary was about a twenty minute walk away from Concord.

You suddenly remembered about a familiar clothing store coming up and had the urge to look around for something new. You really wanted some proper, comfortable clothes for sleeping in. At the moment you were making due with a simple dress, while Hotshot over there, was wearing a tee shirt and jeans to bed.

That can't be comfortable... and I don't want to wake up to find him in just his underwear. You snickered as the image popped into your head, your mind drifting off, all on it's own.

Actually.. I bet his body is quite nice looking... It sure did feel nice when he hugged me yesterday...

"What are you laughing at, over there?" He suddenly asked, pulling you out of your daydream.

You felt your face flush at being caught with such a thought and you immediately felt guilty. Even though you knew he had no clue what you were imagining, you were glad that he was walking behind you and couldn't see your embarrassment.

"Oh nothing." You quickly dismissed and sped up ahead, putting some distance between you two. He grunted in acknowledgement and kept his pace.

You waited a while before voicing your thoughts. "Hey, see that clothing store over there?" He grunted again in response, unenthusiastically.

You pressed on, ignoring him. "I'm going to go look around for something, should take about twenty minutes." You were about to rush off ahead and let him catch up leisurely, when his response stopped you dead in your tracks.

Groaning he complained loudly. "Ugggh, can you just not?! I'm cold, soaking wet and exhausted! What could be so important that we have to stop right now to get?!"

You could tell earlier, that he was in an irritable mood, by how quiet he'd been all morning. Now he had finally reached the point where he snapped.

You had been patient with him from the start, but now you had finally had enough of his hot-cold behavior towards you. It seemed like every time you two had any sort of deep conversation where you got to know each other better, he would soon pull back and be in a foul mood, eventually bickering with you.

He's like a Mr. Handy with faulty programming.

You whipped around to face him, shooting him a hateful glare. "Uh, I actually do. There is something that I've been trying to find for a while now, not that it's any of your business MacCready."

You said his name with emphasis, stomping closer towards him a few steps. He was taken aback by your sudden aggression but held his ground, mirroring your glare.

"Like I said, it's going to take twenty minutes, tops. I'm the one who hired you, remember? So why don't you just sit down and take a smoke break? I'll be right back."
