Jungkook walked out of after trying to shake off his thoughts.He halted on his steps when he saw Taehyung sitting on the living room couch as he watched Yeontan jumping here and there, letting out excited barks.
To Jungkook, it felt heartwarming to see the puppy getting fond of Taehyung who didn't even bother to remember his name few months ago.The way Taehyung was feeding him showed that he too got fond of the puppy at some point.It seemed so normal, normal like a normal person owning a cute, fluffy pet.But Jungkook knew, it can never be normal for the V people talk about.
How a puppy can gain a spot inside the stone-cold heart of a mafia leader?
Or the heart was never stone-cold?
"You are not a bad person." Without even realising, Jungkook spoke up as he looked at Taehyung with an unreadable gaze.
He saw Taehyung clenching his jaw, completely ignoring what he just said.Jungkook could tell that the elder didn't like what he said.With a sigh, he took slow steps towards the elder and sat beside him.
"You are not a bad person, Taehyung.I know that.I can feel that." Jungkook spoke yet again, taking gaps between each of the sentences.He didn't know what he was doing but he knew that his heart so wanted to tell Taehyung these lines.Soon enough, he felt the heaviness of his chest lightening a little as he voiced out those words carefully.
"Who I am then?" After some time of silence, Taehyung quirked one of his eyebrows as he asked in a mocking tone.
He understood...no no...He forced himself to understand that Jungkook can never accept him the way he is.But he didn't think the boy will go in denial.He didn't think that Jungkook will try to make him see his ownself in a different way.
How can he, a mafia leader is not a bad person?
"You are Kim Taehyung, a man with a heart and feelings." Jungkook said after observing Taehyung for sometime in complete silence.
"Feelings you say?What made you think like that?" Taehyung asked, using the same mocking tone.
"You're fond of him.You're taking care of him." Jungkook said, pointing towards Yeontan.
"A-and you s-said, y-you l-liked me." Jungkook continued.For some reason, he felt his cheeks heating up as he thought about what Taehyung said that day.
Taehyung who was about to retort something to the boy bring delusional stopped when he heard what he said next.After Jungkook decided to leave that day, Taehyung thought the boy would never think about his words, let alone reminding him about it.He thought Jungkook would never come back and will fear him just like all the other people.
Was he proven wrong?
"Why are you bringing that topic again, Jungkook?" Taehyung asked with his voice one octave lower after being silent for a while.He looked at the boy with his dark, sharp eyes, trying to see through him.He wanted to know why Jungkook wasn't behaving like he'd expected him to.
"C-can you tell me why you're doing this?" "Why you are Kim V?" Jungkook asked instead of replying to Taehyung.His eyes showed desperation, as if he needed to know the answers to his questions so bad!
"Jungkook, this is not wh-"
"Please, I need to know this." Jungkook spoke up, cutting Taehyung's stern voice in the middle.His voice was barely a whisper but Taehyung heard it clearly.Perks of bring the king of the mafia world, you can say.
"Why will I tell you about myself when you are not even be a part of my life?" "We both know that you'll never be a part of it.So what's the need to ask all these?" Taehyung said, this time sounding defeated.He saw Jungkook opening and then closing his mouth without voicing out what he wanted to say but it disturbed him when the boy kept looking at him with a pained expression on his face.
