You woke up a few hours later in a different room, what you assumed to be your dorm. Getting up you checked the time, the clock reading half past six meaning that dinner had already passed. You made your way over to Orion who was lying in his bed at the foot of your bed, gently waking him before giving him dinner. You decided that you were going to shower before the welcome ceremony that started at half past seven.
During your shower you turned the water to the hottest setting before laying your new outfit on the table next to the sink. Stepping into the shower, you wince at the temperature but getting used to it after a few minutes. After finishing your shower routine you get out and get changed into your clothes before drying your hair with a towel, deciding to let it air dry. The last few hours had been a blur to you but finally having time to process them you realized what had happened. You had let someone see you when you were vulnerable, and that scared you. You knew that if you got attached to someone they would hurt you, they would leave. But it felt different with the Dean, she didn't judge you, she helped you, made you feel safe. Making your way out of your room you were met with two guards. "You're going to be late, reader." One of them said, "Lady Lesso will deal with you after the ceremony, let's go."The other said, pushing towards the main hall.
Walking in you see that the hall is split. Girls with sparkly dresses fawning of princes on one side. The other side was less pleasant, boys and girls sat in black clothes looking at you, no not just looking at you, they were staring at you. If looks could kill you would be dead. The guards pushed you to the Never's side making you sit on a bench closest to a stage. There you saw a woman in a gold dress with a crown holding a scepter. And standing next to her was Lady Lesso, wearing a suit with a pin at the collar, and a cane by her side. You looked at her to find her already turned to you. She gave a face of annoyance towards you before turning her attention back to the other woman. "Shall we get started?" The redhead asked. The other woman nodded in agreement, looking to Lesso to quiet the students down. "Shut up." She screamed her cane hitting the stone floor causing you to jump slightly. "I am Professor Dovey, Dean of the School for Good." Cheers erupted from the other side of the room. "And I'm Lady Lesso, Dean of the School for evil." Just like the Evers had done, the Never erupted into cheers and applause. Professor Dovey continues after Lesso talking about how good won again last year and some boys came through the doors, fighting each other, clearly looking rehearsed, you roll your eyes wondering why this was even mandatory.
After that little show was over you see a boy standing on a parapet with a rope in his hand. He swiftly swings down landing on the ground before drawing his sword facing the other boys. Smiling, he starts fighting them, the other boys making it easy for him to win. Wanting to leave you slowly got up making my way into the shadows of the room making my way to the door, unnoticed by the other students. When you finally get out of the hall, you start walking back to your room, but are stopped by the same guards from before. Eyes widening you turn to run down the hall before another guard stops in front of you. Taking you by the arms, you are brought to a room that seems to be in the basement of the castle. The wolves bring you over to a chair in the middle of the room before tying your arms and legs to the chair, leaving you in the room alone.
The sound of heels on the stone floor snaps you out of your daze as Lady Lesso comes out of the shadows. She has taken off her coat and is now in a white button up and black dress pants. As she walks towards you she rolls up the sleeves of her shirt before speaking. "Out of all my students, I didn't think it would be you to end up here before classes started." You shrink back into yourself as she walks towards the wall of weapons, looking over each one before selecting a dagger. Walking over to you, she looks down at your small frame. "Tell me Y/N, why did you leave the welcome ceremony?" She asks, taking slow steps up the two stairs and onto the platform, the sound of her heels reverberating off the walls. You say nothing, deciding to look down at the ground. Clearly the redhead disapproved of this, making her way to you, using the dagger to lift your gaze from the floor to her eyes. "I want an answer, now." She says, raising her voice, enough to make you flinch. "I don't know, I'm sorry." You say, in a whisper that she wouldn't have been able to hear if not for her close proximity. "Hmm, what should I do with you?" She asks as she starts circling you making you look back down at the ground. "I'm sorry, I didn't think it would be a big deal if I left." You say honestly, your voice a bit louder than before. "Well you were wrong." You nod your head, staying silent, questioning if you should speak. "I will tell you one thing though, what happened today will never happen again. You will forget about it and never speak of it to anyone. If I so much as hear one thing from anyone, there will be hell to pay, do you understand?" She asks, receiving a nod from you. "I said, do you understand?" She yells causing your heart rate to spike and tears well up in your eyes. "Yes, I understand Lady Lesso." Voice shaky as you respond to her. She laughs to herself before speaking. "You are weak, jumping at the slightest of sounds, crying when yelled at, it's pathetic." The redhead says as tears are falling from your eyes. "I want you to remember this moment. Remember you are weak, you are nothing, know your place." You didn't know how to respond, part of you wanted to yell at her, to tell her that she was wrong, but the other part of you felt that the words the Dean spoke were true, and coming from her lips, it would be the center of attention in your head.
Untying the ropes that bound your arms and legs to the chair, Lady Lesso motioned you to leave the room. Before leaving you looked her in the eyes, whispering the one question that would gnaw at her for the days to come. "What happened to you?" You said before running up the stairs and back to your room.
