Lesso's POV
I hated him! Rafal had been making my life a living nightmare since the night he made his way into Y/N's dream. I still remember that night like it was yesterday. I don't think I have ever felt more fear for someone in my entire life. The thought of Rafal getting a hold of Y/ N made me so mad and scared. I didn't want to even think of the possibility of losing her, so I decided that it would be best to distance myself from her. I know that it hurt her when I started ignoring her but I did it to protect her. I know that it doesn't make it right, but I would rather her be mad at me than her being taken advantage of by Rafal. I also started tutoring Sophie and when I tell you I would love to push her off the bridge....but alas I can't... unfortunately. She was getting more powerful and I knew that Rafal would be coming back soon to see the progress she had made.
Today Sophie managed to really piss me off, leading me to snap at Y/N. She was uncharacteristically quiet when she walked into my classroom before class started. She took a seat at her normal seat and just zoned out. I wanted to check on her and see how she was doing but I didn't want to risk anything. More students started filing into the classroom when I saw Y/N get up from her desk, grabbing onto it for support. "Miss L/N, class starts now, where do you think you are going?" there was a bite to my words, I hated that it came out that way. "I just need to get water, Lady Lesso." She told me. "You walk out of this classroom you will automatically fail today's assessment." I said, smirking to myself when I saw her stop and move back to her seat, albeit unsteadily.
The assessment today was to see how the students' powers had progressed. Most of them had little to no change in their ability to produce or control their powers. The last pair I called on were Y/N and Sophie. I wanted to see how Y/N would react, hoping that maybe she would be able to draw out her powers. Y/N and Sophie were the last to go, making their way to the middle of the room. Sophie started off strong attacking with different spells causing her to duck and move around, trying to avoid getting hit. This went on for a few minutes. I could see Y/N swerving and ramming into desks and hitting walls. I was so confused as to what was happening, it wasn't until I heard Sophie scream that I was snapped out of my trance. The room had dropped to well below freezing temperatures. Y/N's eyes were ice blue and hair silver. The tips of her fingers were covered in frost as she froze Sophie where she stood.
She collapsed to the ground, hair turning back to her natural color, while the frost disappeared from the tips of her fingers. "Everyone out. NOW!" Not one of the students hesitated leaving the room. Leaving their books and other belongings behind. I tried to unfreeze Sophie but when my magic touched her she shattered into pieces. To say I was shocked would be the understatement of the century. But I couldn't focus on it right now. My girlfriend was lying there unconscious and I was partially to blame.
