Part 7 - Trading Life for Life

Abby's POV

I can hear Octavia yelling at her brother. She sounds angry at him. I hear her say "I just don't take orders for someone who trades lives." That caught my attention. When she put the radio away, I walked up to her.

"What did you mean by him trading lives?" I ask. "Did he trade Clarke for someone?"

"Abby." Octavia starts but I stop her.

"No, I want the truth." I say seriously and Octavia sighs.

"The Grounders took me and Sasha. They kept us prisoner and made us fight other Grounders. Their leader, she has had her eye on Clarke. I heard her talking to one of her Grounders in English. She has been following Clarke and watching her skills. She wanted to trade me for Clarke, but Clarke said no." She stops for a second.

"And?" I ask her to continue not knowing if I wanted to hear the rest.

"And Bellamy being so protective of me, took the deal. I've been mad at him ever since I found out he was the one who took the deal." Octavia finished with tears in her eyes. The one she called Lincoln came over and hugged her. "Clarke is a great leader, and she will always have her spot leading the 100. If she comes back." Octavia says the last part under her breath.

Kane POV

I heard the whole thing. It was Bellamy's doing that Abby's child is not here. I hear talking and quickly recognize the voice. Bellamy pops out of some bushes and walks over to Octavia.

"O, I told you to stay here and not leave." He says grabbing Octavia's arm.

"Let me go!" Octavia shouts. I rush over and knock Bellamy to the ground. "Kane!" Octavia yells at me but I ignore her and kick Bellamy in the side.

"It is not in your power to trade lives. You may be on the ground, but you are all still criminals. And I'll be damn sure to watch all of you closely." I tell him pushing him one last time and walk away.

"You don't have the power either!" I hear Bellamy yell after me. By now we gathered a crowd.

"What did you say, boy?" I say turning to face him.

"You don't have any power down here. The rules have changed, and I am the leader of the 100. You are not the one in charge anymore." Bellamy says standing up.

"Your wrong Bellamy." I hear from my side.

Octavia POV

I'm so sick of my brothers' attitude. I hear him and Kane yelling about power. That's all either of them wants, power. I decide to do what I set up a long time ago. "Your wrong Bellamy." I yell at him. He looks up at me confused. "No, Kane doesn't have any power down here. But neither do you." I tell him and he smirks.

"Then who does?" Bellamy questions smugly.

"When you were the leader, before Clarke, I knew you would get wound up in the power. I'm sorry big bro, but I overrule you." I tell him as every member of the 100 left stands behind me.

"Okay, you might have the power of the 100, but you don't of the Ark." Kane says.

"Neither do you." I say turning my focus to my left. "She does. The people of the Ark will follow Abby to death, and the 100 Will follow me until we get Clarke back. When we do, they will follow her to death. Because We don't care about the power, we care about surviving." I say taking a deep breath.

Kane and Bellamy just look at each other while Abby gives me a grateful huge smile. I walk over to her and give her a hug. "I will stop at nothing to get your daughter back. She saved my life twice and I need to repay a favor." I tell her as she hugs me harder.
