Clarke POV

Everyone was walking to my tent when I slipped away. I know they want me back at the camp but what if they change their minds when they see me in Grounder gear? I will make them realize what they put me through when they betrayed me.

I was walking through camp when I noticed someone following me. It didn't take me long to figure out it was Lincoln. I turned around the corner and took out my sword. He came around and stopped in his tracks.

"Clarke!" He says shocked. "It's just me."

"I know Lincoln." I say putting my blade away. "Why are you following me?" I ask him in a serious tone. He notices and straightens up.

"I just wanted to see where you were going." He says innocently.

I knew he was lying. "I just needed to clear my head and walk for a bit." I say falsely back.

"No, you weren't, not with your leg injured." He says looking at me shift my weight. I sigh at him.

"Fine, I needed to think, and everyone went into my tent, so I decided to take a walk." I tell him a little truth. He nods and stands his ground.

"I am heading to Le...The Commander's tent. If you want, you can accompany me." I tell him and he takes me up on the offer.

We arrive at Lexa's tent and I tell Lincoln to go back to the others. He reluctantly did so, as I entered the tent. Lexa turns around as I enter and has a smile on her face. While mine is serious.

"Lexa, I need to ask you something, and you need to answer honestly." I say looking into her eyes. Her smile fades as we walk over to her table and sit.

"What's on your mind Clarke?" She asks.

"When we, the 100, came to earth, you were watching me." I say trying to choose my words."Why me? I mean, Lincoln said you were only watching me since we landed." I ask her.

"Clarke, I was watching you because you were the leader." She tells me and I roll my eyes.

"No, that's not why. When we first landed Bellamy was the leader. Everyone listened to him." I tell her a little annoyed she wasn't telling the truth. She looked away and took a breath.

"Clarke, the truth is, I saw something in you. I knew you were selfless and strong." She tells me and I blush a little, turning away so she doesn't see.

Lexa POV

Clarke is asking me why her. Why did I pick her? I told her I saw something in her, and she turned away. I looked at her closer and put my hand on her arm. She turned toward me and I could tell she was blushing. That alone made me smile. "Clarke, when you were fighting Sasha, I wanted to give you the food instead of her. I knew you could beat her, but you were Pure. I made you kill her, and for that, I'm sorry." I tell her and shockingly, she smiles.

"No, it's your ways and you just wanted to test me, I know that now. Thanks to you, I am a Grounder. The great Commanders second. Because of you, I know how to Hunt, Fight, and Survive. In a weird way, you saved my life." Clarke says and we both smile. She grabs my hand. "Lexa, I know I'm going to be a day away, but I will come back." She tells me as we hug.

"Clarke, would you like to come with me? I want to show you something." I tell her and she nods as we stand up to walk outside, with distance between us. I lead her through the camp and into the woods. Once we are clear of our people, I grab her hand and we walk closer together. After about three minutes I can tell Clarke is slowing down.

"Here, Come sit." I tell her knowing her leg is bothering her. She winces as she sits beside me. "How's your leg?" I ask her.

"It's mostly healed but still sore. I will be fine, Nothing I can't handle." She tells me.

"Look up." I tell her smiling at how strong she is. She looks up and shares my smile.

"It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen." She says in awe.

"Second most." I say looking at her. She looks me in the eyes and smiles. She puts her head on my shoulder and we just sit there, content.

When we got back, we were the only ones up. "You should go back to your tent. When the sun comes up, I will have five of my horses ready. You should leave right away so you get there before dark." I tell her and she nods.

Lincoln POV

I'm in Clarkes tent watching Octavia sleep. She is so breathtaking. I hear someone enter the tent and know it's Clarke seeing as she was the only one up yet. "Lincoln, why are you still up?" Clarke asks me.

"I don't sleep that often." I tell her and she nods as she takes her armor and sword off.

"Will you be coming with us back to the dropship?" She asks me.

"Yes, I am to follow Octavia." She smiles and lays on the floor next to Octavia seeing her mother was on her bed.

"How bad was she when I was here?" Clarke asks me.

"She was mad at her brother, but she handled it well. I could tell she missed you though." I tell her.

"Yeah, we are close. I lost it when she was gone." She tells me and we both go to sleep.
