Clarke Of The Grounders

Part 19 - Medical

Clarke POV

We enter the camp and it is silent. I could tell they were shocked at my Grounder armor and my sword on my back. I jump off my horse and everyone starts to cheer. I smile at them really wanting me back, but then feel the pain in my shoulder worsen. I find Octavia and tell her that I need her help stitching my shoulder.

She leads me to a tent and as we enter, I see Monty and Jasper. They hug me tightly and the pain intenses in my arm. Octavia gets them out of the tent I take my armor off. Octavia gathers supplies as I look at my shoulder. Luckily, it isn't infected, but I tell O that she needs to heat the needle because my skin is raw. She does and when she is ready she looks me in the eye. "Are you ready?" She asks. I take a breath and nod.

Octavia POV

I start to stitch up Clarkes' shoulder, every now and then looking up to make sure she is okay, but every time I look up, she has no emotion on her face. I finish the last stitch, tying it off. "Ok, I'm done." I tell her as she looks at her shoulder.

"This is really good." She tells me with a smile. I smile back, but it soon fades.

"How?" I ask her. "How didn't you feel that?" She looks at me and back at the ground.

"I did." She says.

"But you had no sign of pain or discomfort."

"A lot had changed Octavia. I don't feel pain the same as I once did. I have changed."

"I can tell." I say while putting the supplies away.

"Octavia, I am still Clarke." She says as I turn around and face her but say nothing. "O, I am still me. I just learned some new things." She tells me.

"Like what?" I question her but she answers with a sigh.

"Well, I learned how to hunt, fight, walk quietly in the woods, Trigedasleng, and other small stuff. O, I am still me, just with better knowledge." She tells me and I smile and go to hug her lightly. She puts her armor on and we walk out of the tent.

As soon as we leave the tent everyone is standing around staring at Clarke. "So, are you back to stay and lead?" Someone from the crowd yelled and Clarke smiles

"A lot has changed..." Clarke yelled so everyone could hear her. "Despite what has happened, I am back, and will lead you!" She finishes. Everyone shouts and cheers for Clarke.
