Flashback

Lexa's POV

"I know I won't be able to fight all three of them at once." Clarke says to me.

"Yes, you will." I say grabbing her hand. "I have seen you fight before; you can take them. Just don't underestimate them." I tell her with confidence.

"I know I'm a great fighter, I had the best teacher." She says looking at me with a lovely smile. "But not when it comes to warriors. I mean yeah, I can fight but only when it's life and death." She says I take a minute, the silence heavy. I can't believe she cares so much. That is what I love about her.

"Clarke, Grag and Scmo think they can get away with whatever they want. Prove them wrong. If you know you can't get through it without actually hurting them look over to me, if I give you a nod do what it takes to put them in their place." I tell her and I pull her into a soft kiss. "Times up!" Someone yells.

End of Flashback

Clarke POV

She gave me a nod and I knew what I had to do. I took a breath and looked back to Grag, who was just standing up. I put my hands up ready to fight and he smirks. "yu laik odon doing chit yu want. yu will follow the heda's orders, o yu will suffer." (You are done doing what you want. You will follow The Commander's orders, or you will suffer) I tell him as he picks up his sword again. He smiles and so does Lexa, I guess she heard me. He rushes at me and quickly stabs his sword at me. He misses and tries to kick my feet from beneath me, but I jump and avoid it. He stands back and regroups himself.

He swings his sword and It grazes the same arm as before in the same spot. I let out a small cry and know this has to end before I get really hurt. I stand back up and he swings the sword again. I bat it away and kick him in the stomach. He stumbles back and charges me again, but I stand my ground grabbing his arm at the last second. With all his body weight moving forward, I pull his arm backward.

I hear a crack and his screams. I quickly grab the sword from his hands and held it to his throat. He held his arm and kneeled on the ground. I drop the sword and back away. "And that's three." I say. He bows his head at me and stays there. I smile a bit and look at Lexa to see her nod and look at Grag. She steps forward and looks at all her warriors.

"Clarke has earned the respect of everyone. My warriors and hers." That's all she says when she turns to me and we both walk into the dropship ignoring the quiet whispers.

Lexa POV

"Clarke, that was..." I was cut off by her kissing me. I don't react at first but then kiss back. It was soft and sweet until she pushes me against the wall and the kiss gets heated. We both pull away for air and are both smiling. I look into her eyes and start to speak. "What was that for?" I ask her.

"I just realized that either one of us could die at any time, and I don't want to waste any time." She tells me and I pull her in for another kiss.

We pull apart as we hear the door open, with Octavia entering. "Hope I'm not interrupting." She says with her smile growing. I look at Clarke and her cheeks are red.

"What do you want Octavia?" Clarke asks. Her smile disappeared.

"Your mom wants to see you in medical." She tells Clarke.

"Tell her I will be there in a minute."

"Alright, don't take too long doing, whatever you were doing." Octavia says with another smile. She leaves the room and Clarke looks at me.

"Don't worry, Only Octavia, Raven, Lincoln, and my mom know." she tells me before pecking me on the lips once more. She started leaving when I spoke up.

"Clarke..." She turned around. "I have to leave and head back to my people. Meet me in our spot in two days at midnight." I tell her and she smiles walking back to me. She puts one hand on my cheek and kisses me yet again. I never want to let her go, but we are leaders and have responsibilities. We break apart and she leaves to go see her mom.

Clarke POV

I'm heading to medical and have a smile on my face, all I can think about is Lexa. I enter medical and see my mom and Octavia standing there. My mom looks serious, but O had a smile on her face. I look at O and smile slightly.

"Shut it O." I say playfully knowing she saw us. My mom then starts to talk.

"Clarke, what were you thinking?" She asks me. I was a little confused but then remembered. I was thinking about Lexa so much I forgot about the fight, forgot about my arm. Then I remember she's waiting for an answer.

"I needed to earn their respect." I say and she looked mad at my answer.

"But you almost died. You don't know how to survive out there, you don't know what it really means to lead."

"Bullshit, that was far from dying. I have had an arrow through my leg and lost more blood than I knew I had. That is almost dying, not this stupid scratch on my arm." I say and she starts to talk again but I cut her off. I wasn't done. "I have been down here way longer than you. I know how to survive down here without all this fencing and medal to protect you. I know that you need respect to lead, and I know that I am a way better leader than you will ever be." I finish and Octavia won't even look at me. But she does say something.

"Abby, Clarke is right. We have been down here a lot longer than the ark has. We know a lot more." She says softly to my mom. I'm silently grateful that she backed me up.

My mom just looks at me blankly. I start to walk away but she says something that enrages me. "What about the grounders? What about Lexa?" She asks me. I turn around with anger in my eyes.

"What about them?" I ask her.

"You can't trust them. Especially not Lexa." She says while looking me straight in the eyes.
