The van finally arrived. We threw out gear into the boot, then slid into the rearview seats. I quickly shoved my way through so I was sitting in the front facing row, leaving River to face the back.
''Where are we going?'' The driver asked.
''240 Melam avenue, Findara''. River replied.
''That's almost a seven hour ride'' He exclaimed.
''Well we better start driving then'' River huffed.
''Yes sir'' The driver mocked. ''Better get comfortable. It's gonna be a long night''.
''What time do you reckon we are gonna get there?'' I asked, pulling myself forward to look at the driver.
''Well Lass, It's around ten am now, so around five pm this afternoon.
''Cool man, thanks'' I replied, throwing myself back into the comfort of the leather seats.
River sighed and began rummaging through his small backpack that he had stowed away with him.
''What are you looking for?''
''A game''
''You brought a game?''
''Of course, last time we went on a long drive you fell asleep and I had nothing to do. This time I came prepared''. He smiled.
''Well what game did you bring?''
''Solitaire'' He cheered as he pulled the cards out from the depths of his bag.
I couldn't help but watch as he started to play the worst game of solitaire I had ever seen. Twenty minutes had passed and he still hadn't managed to match a single set.
''God this game is so boring'' He whined, leaning back on his seat.
''Well what did you expect for a card game invented for the lonely?''
''Joy!'' He cried, throwing his arms up in annoyance.
''Oh you poor boy. It must be so hard''
''Leave me alone'' He huffed, packing up his cards. I couldn't help but chuckle as I pulled out a small game from my side pocket.
''What's that?'' He asked, his face lighting up.
''Travel monopoly'' I said, pulling down the arm rest and setting up the game. ''Top hat or thimble?''
''Top hat''
''Cool, I'll be the race car'' I said as I rolled the dice. ''Ha suck it a double six, that means I get to go first''.
An hour had passed and we were tied up.
''Mayfair, that's my property pay up!''
''No!''
''River give Ivy her money, you landed on her property'' The driver called from the front, clearly fed up with our childish antics.
''No she's in jail, I don't give money to criminals''
