Luna continued to stare at the castle, towards which her partner was moving inexorably away, without a glance. A dark melancholy mixed with few regrets was twisting her stomach. This time, if she didn't react, it would be well and truly over, there would be nothing left of their relationship. What a waste! Was this what she wanted? A life away from her soul mate, until she passed away? A happiness wasted on a pair of gloves? No, no, no, she had to do something, she had to hold him back. Her heart was so aching that every beat felt like a stab.

Without thinking any further, she launched herself after him, with difficulty, for she had not yet recovered all her physical faculties. She had to save their love.
He was already far down the garden path, and she finally caught him, panting, before clinging desperately to his waist, stuck to his back, her head resting between his shoulder blades.

"Ben, I beg you, don't go," she murmured, tears welling up in her eyes.

Unable to keep on moving and leave her, he turned to look at the face that reminded him why he was there. He ran a hand over her cheek, and took her gloved hand with the other.

"I have no desire to leave, my blossom," he replied, pressing his forehead to hers. "Do you trust me?"

Again she felt the pleasant tingling in her forehead, the special bond that bound them. She needed that bond to feel alive, to be happy.
The light fairy nodded and smiled, ready to take off her glove. Ben wouldn't have the same reaction as Andreas, he was far too good. And most of all, he loved her.

Slowly, she began to pull the glove off with apprehension. Her companion's steady and benevolent gaze cleared her all her doubts. His hand on hers, helping her through the ordeal, gave her the courage to finish what they had started.
The glove revealed a hand with deformed and reddish skin, which the Queen tried to hide by reflex, her eyes fleeing.

Seeing the extent of the damage, Ben couldn't help but suppress a sob, heartbroken. How guilty he felt! If he hadn't forgotten that candle, none of this would have happened. Seeing her hand in that condition hurt so much, and he hadn't seen anything yet. However, these burns were only proof of their love. If they hadn't fallen in love, Luna would never have come to his suite that night.
The lesions didn't take away from his desire to embrace her, to shower her with kisses, to take her to the heavens.
But for now, Ben was holding his lover's hand in his, and she was trembling. It was time to reassure her.

Instead of whispering sweet nothings in her ear, he pressed her hand to his lips and placed a most delicate kiss on it, as if he were afraid of hurting her.
Gently, his lips moved along the burns, which he kissed thoroughly, moving up to her wrists and forearms, pushing up her white sleeve.
She watched him in action, stunned, her body burning with pleasure. She couldn't help but bite her lip. He was really kissing each of her lesions with all his wisdom. She would never have thought of such a loving and sincere reaction.

He lifted his head, staring at her with his bright eyes.

"You're beautiful, Lu, don't forget that," he said with certainty, before joking. "And, if other men think otherwise, that's fine with me, I don't like to share."

She gazed into her partner's completely transfixed eyes and burst out laughing, comforted. In one sentence, he had managed to restore her confidence, and she wanted to celebrate with dignity.
Taken with a real animal impulse, she threw herself on his lips, which she enjoyed with a long moan.

"Come on, let's run away from here, let's not tell anyone, let's spend the weekend somewhere else, just the two of us!" she exclaimed in a cheerful tone.

He smiled mischievously at her, he had had this idea all along. Going away with her was all he wanted. To be away from the castle, away from Alfea, away from Andreas. And he knew exactly where to go.

"I know a place in the First World that will most certainly please you. It is romantic and ideal for our reunion," he explained, bringing his lips sensually to her ear.

The Queen relished the warm breath of her companion on her skin, making her anticipate a delicious evening.
"To the end of the world, and beyond, I will go with you, my love," she confessed, thinking back to those two long months of separation that had seemed like an eternity.

He cupped her face, looking serious.

"All right, but then, you tell your staff you're away, I wouldn't want to be seen as a dangerous queen abductor."

She nodded with burning eyes.

"I'd like you to kidnap me and take me away from here, to an undisclosed location, where we could stay just the two of us, for a very long time," she retorted in a suave voice as she began to wriggle languidly against him.

"Just be glad I'm taking you to a heavenly place, by the way, you should take some light clothes and your swimsuit," he advised, longing for the touch of her skin. "My travel bag is already in the car."

She gazed at him with stars in her eyes. She was no longer afraid to reveal her body to him.
He took her bruised hand in his, walking back to the castle, where she packed her travel bag. Before getting into the car, she warned all her staff not to disturb her while she was away, and not to follow her.
She then sat in the passenger seat with her bag in the back.
As Ben was about to start the car, she stopped him abruptly.

"Put on my ring and visualize the place, we'll get there quicker," she assured him, bringing the two bags over to her. "It's the same as Stella's."

She didn't give him time to respond and pulled the ring off and slipped it onto his middle finger. Immediately, the jewel fit the shape of his finger.
The two lovebirds exchanged a knowing glance before taking each other's hands.

"Close your eyes, cutie," he whispered softly.

She obeyed, confidently. The botany professor visualized the remote white sandy beach under the coconut trees where he used to frequent, and had even built a shelter on stilts, invisible to human eyes.

When his fairy opened her eyes, she could not believe her ears. She had never seen such a beautiful landscape, and to experience it with him was simply magical.
Luna soaked up the warmth of the sun, the gentle sea breeze, the sound of the waves in the lagoon and snuggled up to her favorite botanist, thrilled.

She had followed him at the end of the world.
