Chapter Twelve: Emmett

"So wait...let me get this straight..." I said, gathering my thoughts.

"Jacob Black imprinted on Edward, which means Edward can't be with Bella anymore. Since he can't be with Bella, she decides to go live with her mom. And, on top of all that, Victoria, who's been MIA for months, is now going to come for Jacob?" I finished, staring at my siblings and parents.

Jasper nodded, and Alice spoke,
"Yes, that's pretty much it."

"You have got to be kidding me! It was bad enough that we had to risk our lives, more than once, for a human. Now, we have to do it for our enemy? A common mongrel?" Rose shrieked, anger burning in her eyes.

Sexy as hell, but a major hot head.

"Rosalie!" Esme scolded, as Carlisle shot her a warning look.

She sat, crossing her arms, and glared at the floor.

"Well, where is Edward now?" I asked. He was gone when Rose and I got home.

"With Jacob, I'm sure. He went to warn the pack about Victoria." Carlisle answered.

Rose scoffed, rolling her eyes.

"I'm gonna go find them." I said, happily as I made my way to the door.

"Esme and I need to hunt, maybe you three should join us?" Carlisle asked.

"No thanks, I'm stuffed." Rose grumbled sarcastically.

But, Jasper and Alice decided to take him up on his offer.

I made my way out the door, and we split, I went south towards La Push, while the others headed North to hunt.

Hell, I wanted to congratulate the two! I actually thought the imprint was great! Yeah, okay, so I haven't always been a big fan of the wolves...well at least that's the act I put on. Truth is? I hate the stupid treaty, and am this crap about us being 'natural born enemies'. I can't stand it! I'm too easy going for all that drama. Besides, there was a particular wolf that was pretty easy on the eyes. Don't get me wrong, I love Rose...but, I also like what I see.

I'd started running not long after I left the house, so it didn't take long for me to find myself in the woods of La Push. I stopped and stood still for a moment to see of I could catch Edward or Jacob's scent. Soon enough, I caught both.

"Not far either." I said to myself, as I headed in their direction.

I knew Edward wouldn't be surprised by my reaction to the imprint. Being able to get into my head and all, he pretty much knew what I was really thinking and feeling about things.

Movement to my right caught my attention, and I smiled as I spotted the pair, just a few yards out of the woods. Were they...? Yes. They were most definitely hugging. Priceless!

"Aww..what a lovely couple!" I exclaimed in a mock high pitched voice, clapping my hands together in front of my face.

Jacob jumped back away from Edward, and sounds around to face me with wild eyes. Edward simply shook his head with a big smile.

"Everything goes down when I'm gone doesn't it?" I asked, with a chuckle, as I pulled Edward into a hug.

He laughed, hugging me back. "Apparently so!"

I pulled away from my brother and turned to face a confused looking Jacob.

"You're not angry?" He asked.

I grinned. "Look pup, I know the image I put out...but its really not like that. I don't have a problem with you or any of the others. In fact I think the imprint is great! I'm happy for you two."

Jacobs entire form relaxed at my words and he stepped up close to Edward's side. Edward smiled and reached out, taking Jacob's hand in his.

"Thanks." Jacob said with a smile, and I nodded.

I stood there watching them for a moment. They just looked so...perfect together.

I remember when that was me and Rose.
I thought to myself, then realized that Edward heard the thought when he raises an eyebrow at me. I smiled and waved him off.

"So...Bella's leaving huh?" I asked.

Both of them had a look of pure guilt and sadness on their faces at the mention of her name. That's not right. I mean, yeah, shes upset because of the imprint, but they shouldn't feel guilty for finding true love.

"What's with the long faces? You two should be happy not sad! Its unfortunate for her, yeah, but how she chooses to handle the situation is not your fault. I don't think you should feel guilty about finding love." I spoke, echoing my own thoughts.

Jacob studied me for a moment, then grinned and looked at Edward. Edward was already watching him with a small grin of his own.

"See! Be happy. Enjoy what's happening, because its real. Its true blue love, and you two have the rest of eternity to enjoy it together. Live it up, boys!" I said enthusiastically.

Edward chuckled, and pulled Jacob to him, wrapping his arms around his waist. Jacob smiled and placed one hand on Edward's chest, and the other at the back of his neck. The look on their faces was unbeatable. Pure happiness. I guess the imprint was pretty strong. They looked...relieved like they'd been fighting against it since it happened. But now...now they could just...be.

I grinned as I stood there watching them. This was a new beginning. And regardless of how some people might react to it, I knew it was a good thing. No matter what.

As I watched them, I couldn't help but feel a little jealous. There was a time when Rose and I would hold each other that way. But, unfortunately, that time was long gone. We took our little vacation as a last ditch effort to try and get it back but all we did was fight. That's all we ever did. I love her, and I'm sure she loves me...but it's just not like it used to be. We've drifted apart and I don't think we can come back.

But maybe...just maybe...there's a love out there for me, like Edward and Jacob have now. I smiled big at that thought. I could definitely get into that.

Author's Note: Hehe. Okay so this story is just getting going and I've already started working on a sequel. Its going to be about Emmett, of course, and his new love! Similar to what's going on with this story but its going to play out very differently. And you'll never guess who his lover will be!!:) Alright. Comments please!! I wanna hear your thoughts!!!
