Chapter Fifteen: Jacob

"I really don't know why you're making me do this. I thought you were on my side! I thought you cared Edward." I whined.

Edward smirked. "I do care. More than anything. But...this isn't my decision."

"He's right! I'm in charge of this adventure, Jake." Alice said happily.

I rolled my eyes. "I have clothes. I don't need new ones. And my hair is just fine the way it is!"

Edward chuckled at my side. "Everything on you is more than fine, its perfect."

"But...your hair is getting a little shaggy looking, and if you're gonna be a part of this family, you've got.to show you have good taste." Alice grinned.

I stared, wide eyed at Edward. "Is she serious?"

"Mmm, fraid so, love." He answered, kissing my forehead as he stood.

We had been sitting in Edward's room on his couch for the past hour or so discussing my, apparent, need of a makeover.

I huffed and crosses my arms as I watched him walk over to his stereo to change the CD.

"Come on, Jacob its not that bad. You'll love your new look, I promise." Alice gushed, batting her eyelashes at me.

I couldn't help but grin.

"I don't think you need to change anything at all, but I do think you'll have fun." Edward said, as some weird classical crap came flowing from the speakers.

I stared at him for a moment, then turned my attention to Alice, who was now sitting Indian style next to me, positioned so that she was facing me.

"Okay fine. I'll go, but only under two conditions!" I said, holding up two fingers, stopping her mid-squeal.

"I'm not getting a bunch of fancy rich people clothes, that's just not me. And two, no weird colors in my hair. Black, brown, and blonde only!"
I finished, allowing Alice to continue her excited squeal.

Edward smiled brightly at me. "Alright, I'm going to meet up with Carlisle at the hospital. I think I'll spend some time with him today. Have fun, and I'll see you when you get back." He leaned down and kissed me on the cheek with a grin.

I couldn't do anything but smile like a love struck kid.

"Alice, if anything happens to my wolf in your care, I will obliterate you. You know that right?" He asked his sister with a playful wink.

My wolf. I thought to myself. I like that.

"I thought you might." He answers softly, watching me.

"Yes, yes, I'll protect him with my life, I swear! Now, come on, Jake, if we don't hurry we'll miss all the amazing sales on men's designer jeans that are going on right now!" Alice exclaimed, jumping up and effortlessly pulling me to my feet. Her tiny size mixed with her immense strength was a little off putting.

I laughed as the sudden movement threw me off balance, and sent me flying into Edward's waiting arms.

"Nice catch." I smirked, wrapping my arms around his middle, as he wrapped his arms around my lower waist.

"Why, thank you." He grinned, making my heart flutter, which made him grin even wider.

"Oh hush. I can't help it. You just have this crazy effect on me.." I said, defending my erratic heartbeat.

"Yes, its called love. Now, let's go!" Alice said, tapping her foot impatiently.

Love. I repeated in my mind.
