Charlie's POV

"Come here," Louis opens his arms and I move across the couch until I reach him. He wraps his inked arms around me and just keeps me in his warm embrace.

"So what do we tell the boys?" I glaze my hand over Louis' tattoo and he sighs and shrugs.

"Why do they need to know?" He asks.

"Because they are your friends, Louis. They deserve to know. They will figure out something is up soon, if they haven't already.."

"You and me should stay between you and me." Louis interuppts.

"Well yeah but.."

"There is only one 'but' I will tolerate in my presence, Charlie," Louis pokes the side of my bum, making me unintentionally giggle but I control it quickly.

"Nope," I hop out of his embrace and he frowns. "I want to get to know you. Simple things about you."

"Why the hell would you care?" He raises an eyebrow at me and I shrug.

"Well why wouldn't I?" I defend.

Louis rolls his eyes for an unknown reason and turns on the tv.

I take that as permission to ask questions.

"What's your favorite color?" I decide to start with basic questions.

"Red?" Louis gives me a confused look but I ignore it.

"Favorite movie?"

"I don't really watch movies."

"Why not?"

"Next question."

"That is a question."

"New topic."

I roll my eyes at him and frown on how he is slowly shutting me out again.

"Favorite food?"

"Spaggetti."

"Favorite song?"

Louis goes into deep thought with that question before answering.

"I don't have one."

"Oh.." I sigh "well what's your favorite quote?"

"Lose yourself in the music, the moment you own it you better never let it go."

I stare at Louis, shoked. I didn't expect him to have an answer to that one. I didn't know Louis was a music person.

"Wow," I say in disbelief.

"What? That wasn't any inspirational shit. It's a song lyric."

"I know," I tell him "you don't seem like the type of person who would have a favorite quote."

"Don't judge a book by it's cover, Charlie."

"I'm not.." I deny.

"Don't lie to me," Louis whispers into my ear, sending chills down my spine.

"I-I'm not," I stutter.

"Mmm," he hums and backs away from me with a smirk on his face.

I stare at Louis while his focus is on the tv. I want my father to meet Louis. The proper way. I shouldn't have to hide Louis from my own father. Louis glances at me a few times but doesnt say anything.

"What?" He smiles at me and I automatically smile back.

"I want you to meet my dad," I tell him.

"Hell no," He shuts that down and focuses back on the tv.

"Why not?" I whine.

"He'll hate me, not that I care, but then he'll be mad at you because of me. Im a shitbag, Charlie. Don't ruin your life over me."

I sigh at Louis' words and realize that he's kind of right. At least the first half of it.

"I can take it, Louis."

"If we were dating, then yes. But we're not and we never will, so no."

I already knew we weren't dating but I don't ever do 'friends with benefits' so I'm still thinking 'couple.'

Why is he so specific with titles?

"Wipe the frown off your face," Louis frowns and I giggle unintentionally.

"I just wish you were normal.." I quietly blurt.

Louis' face gets straight and he sighs and runs a hand through his hair. I hope I didn't hurt his feelings. Does he really have any?

"I can be.." he mumbles.

I shrug and stay quiet before looking down at my feet.

"I'll meet your dad.." Louis begins to play with his fingers and I look at him in shock. I thought he was going to change the top but instead, without begging, he gives in? There must be a catch.

"What?" I choke.

"I'll meet your dad, I want to," Louis repeats.

"But what about what you said?" I ask.

"Who gives a shit about what I say?" Louis says "I'll meet your dad tomorrow."

"Meet who's dad?" Harry walks through the door and I wave to him and Louis doesn't acknowledge him much.

"Charlie's. She said he wanted to meet the guy who brought his daughter to New York. He wanted to thank me," Louis lies.

Is he serious? How could he boldly lie like that? Why was he so prepared with an answer? I feel tears brim my eyes and I stand to my feet before the conversation can continue any further.

"Yeah, that's what I said." I look directly at Louis hoping he catches my look of disgust "speaking of my dad, I should probably get home now. Bye Louis, see you later, Harry."

"Bye Charlie," Harry says and Louis just stares at me, no expression on his face, as I leave out of the house.

The same thing happens each time. I come over, get insulted, leave, come back over, then the cycle goes on.

It's time I put an end to it. I tell my father about Louis and the rest will be taken care of from there.
