Beast 10: Reminisce

♚Princess's point of view ♚

I was running so fast that I could almost fly. Well, I wish I can para mas lalong mapabilis. I've never run so fast before. Hindi naman kasi ako tumatakbo dati.

Over protected kasi si lolo sa safety ko. He didn't let me work, he don't want me getting tired. Kahit na maglakad manlang ng ilang kilometers he won't let me. That's why I have my own car.

There was also a time na muntikan na akong mapahamak.

◈Flashback◈

I was just 7 years old when we take a vacation on our rest house beside a forest. Sabi kasi ni lolo maganda, mapayapa, at walang polusyon dito kaya naman sumama ako. And he wasn't lying about it. Maganda nga dito at tahimik dahil nasa gilid ito ng gubat. Malayo rin dito ang kalsada at ang bayan. No pollution na dapat ipag alala.

Loki and I were playing on our backyard. Loki is a big grey dog. Mas malaki pa nga siya kesa sakin. My tito Aries gave him to me as a gift when I turned 7. He has his grey eyes, and grey thick fur. It was like everything on him is grey.

"Princess, don't go in that forest okay? Wild animals are in there. Just stay here with Loki if you don't want to be eaten by them okay? I'll just go to the city. I love you, bye." Then lolo kissed my forehead before leaving.

And now, it's only Loki and me are in this house. "Fetch Loki!!" I commanded. I throw the tennis ball that I am holding. Loki barked once before he ran towards it. Napalakas ata ang pagkakabato ko at napunta pa iyon sa loob ng gubat. Loki ran until he's not in my sight.

"Loki?!" I called him. I just heard a loud howl comming inside the forest. I felt nervoused. What if Loki was in danger? What if the wild animals eat him? He'll be needing my help.

I ran fast as I can towards the forest. I know I'm only 7 but Loki was in trouble. I'm not a superhero or something, I'm just a human but Loki needs my help. Loki is one of my families now. And I will protect my family whatever happens.

I stopped from running when I heard a dog crying in pain. I walked slowly while searching for it. While slowly walking, mas lumalakas ang huni na aking naririnig. It was full of pain. At wala akong magawa kundi ang maawa.

"Loki? Is that you?" I asked na para bang sasagot naman ito. I heard a low howl comming from behind of the tall grasses. Hinawi ko ito upang makita kung ano ang nasa likod nito.

A big brown dog was lying on the ground beside the tall tree. It was crying for pain but no tears comming out. I winced when my shoulder aches. Para itong hinahati and at the same time, binubutas sa sobrang sakit.

Tears started to fall from my eyes. I start crying while carresing my pained shoulder. I'm hoping na sana sa pamamagitan ng paghaplos ko dito ay mawala ang sakit. I also start sobbing and calling for Loki. As if he'll gonna hear my low pained voice.

I walked slowly while my right hand still carresing my pained shoulder towards the big brown dog. It was growling na para bang ayaw niya akong lumapit. His sharp teeths are telling me that he can tear me into piecess pero hindi ako nagpatinag.

Dahan dahan kong nilalapit ang aking kamay upang hawakan siya but he's growling. Nagbabanta rin ang mga mata niya na once I'll touch him he'll bit me. But I know deep inside me na kailangan rin niya ng tulong as much I also needed some help.

"Don't be afraid, I'm a friend" I friendly said while looking at he's deep blue ocean eyes. I smile even though I'm feeling so much pain. He's still growling but when my little hands touches it's cheek I feel something strange.

The pain on my shoulder disappeared. He also stop growling at nakatingin lang siya sakin na para bang napaamo ko na siya. I was shock when his ocean eyes glow.

My eyebrows met habang kinukuha ang isang kwintas na nakasabit sa kanyang leeg. It has a silver round pendant na may nakaukit na araw at buwan. May mga salita ring hindi ko maintindihan ang nakaukit rito. Confuseness, is written in my face. This neclace is somehow familiar.

Lumayo ako ng konti nang nagpumilit siyang tumayo kahit na nahihirapan. I wanted to help him but something in my mind said na wag ko siyang tutulungan.

I just look at him nang makatayo na ito. It is really big na mas malaki pa ito kesa sakin. How can a dog grow like that? And how can a dog be lost in this forest? Mag isa lang ba siya?

Hinawakan ko siya at inalalayan ng muntikan na.siyang matumba. I look at his leg. I think he's injured.

I caress his leg hoping that it will take the pain away. I hope so. He take my pain away and I also wanted to take his pain away.

He licked my cheeks so I giggled when it tingled. "Please,  stop!" I said between my laughs. Everytime he licks my cheeks, nakikiliti ako. I tried to drive him away but he won't let me. I think he likes me already.

"Can I keep you as my dog? I have another dog and he's just like you. But not with the fur. His is grey and yours is brown." Kwento ko sakanya na para bang naiintindihan naman niya. He just lick me again saka niya ako pinaikutan. Like he wanted to play with me.

"You wanted to play huh?! But is your leg okay now?" I asked him while looking at his leg. Hindi na siya nahihirapan pang tumayo. In fact he can jump and run.

Ang bilis naman gumaling ng injury niya. I just laugh at the thought na bakit ko pa siya tinanong kahit alam ko naman na he won't answer. I really look like crazy here. I'm laughing at my self.

I was shock when he nodded his head like answering my question. "You can understand me? How is that possible? I---"

Natigilan kami at nabaling ang tingin naming pareho nang may lumabas na mga aso mula sa makapal na damuhan. They are growling and anger are written on their faces.

I was taken aback when he went in front of me like he's trying to protect me from them. Ano naman ang laban niya? Ang dami nila at mag isa lang siya? And what can I do para matulungan siya laban sa kanila?

Napa atras kami nang umabante sila palapit samin. Is this our end? I hope it's not.
