Getting dressed up for the club, my stomach turned with fear and excitement, but mostly fear. I did not know how either of the men would react. I wanted them both to be my men, but that was a battle I felt like I was going to lose.
Sucking in a deep breath, I finished getting dressed and stopped in front of the mirror to look at myself. I wondered if the leather pants were too much. After all, I wasn't in my twenties anymore like I had been when I bought them. Settling on them, I dug through all my shoes to find some boots to complement the leather pants and the longer long sleeved crop top I was wearing. Like men in the eighties and nineties, crop tops were honestly my favourite. I found them incredibly comfortable and, next to no shame, wearing them in public.
Getting a cab was going to be expensive for the ride, but to me at this point, it was worth it. I didn't want to drive there in case this backfired and I drank myself into a coma. It just wasn't safe to drive in that condition, so I didn't.
The cab ride was slow and annoying. I paid and got out, making sure I had all my things. The parking lot was packed, but I spotted Alexi's car and Demitri's SUV and knew there was no going back now. I made my choice. Now I just had to go through with it.
Taking a deep breath again to settle the feeling that turned my stomach, I got into the line. I watched as some got turned away and others let inside. Finally, I got my chance. The door man looked me up and down and then asked for my ID. I passed him my driver's license.
"Any relation to Maddox Vincent?"
"Yes, He's my first cousin."
"Right, hold on."
He checked the list on his clipboard from the stand there and then spoke. I assumed he was checking the list of people barred from the club, probably by Maddox himself, and I didn't make that list.
"You're free to go inside, enjoy the club."
"Thanks."
He handed me back my ID, and I headed inside. The club was fairly full, but there was enough space to move around. I knew enough about the club just from the papers that I filled and filed. I looked up just briefly and spotted Alexi looking down at the dance floor. Looking back at the floor, I walked to the bar. I needed a shot.
"Can I have a shot of vodka, please?"
"Sure, ID please."
I passed over my ID; the bartender passed it back, and then I paid for the shot, and took the shot. Tossing it back, I set the glass back on the counter and thanked her. Someone grabbed roughly me as I headed to the dance floor.
"What the fuck are you up to, Theo? Fucking dressed like that, you're up to shit." Alexi hissed, spinning me around to face him.
"Um, Hi to you too, Alexi."
"Drop it Theo. You're not just here because by chance you wanted to come to the club. You know they are here and you're up to something."
"I have no clue who or what you think I'm up to, but I would like to ask that you let go of my arm or, at the very least, loosen your grip. Thanks." I said, not wanting him to ruin my plans here. He narrowed his eyes and loosened his grip before looking over my outfit again.
"I know you. You're up to something."
"Alexi, I just want to drink, maybe get drunk. Maybe go home with a stranger. Right now, who the fuck knows? But I'm single and I'm—--"
"You're going to cause problems doing that tonight."
"I assure you, I'm not here to cause problems. I only want to have a good time, and I knew that of all the places that were safe, this was one."
