Natasha rolled over in bed, flopping her arm over Bruce's sleeping figure.
It's been about three weeks since they first landed on what Tony liked to call Isle d'Avenger, even though it was a Mexican island, not French.
The phone was ringing on Bruce's bedside table, and Natasha half-crawled over him to see who it was.
'Peter' flashed across the screen.
Nat sighed and answered the phone. "Hey, Pete," she said tiredly. "How're you doing?"
"I'm good but that's debatable, Miss Romanoff. How about you?"
Peter had figured it out after they left the building a few weeks ago, and had been calling her that since he asked her about it.
"I'm good." Natasha kicked Bruce, but the scientist wouldn't wake up. "Um, Bruce is super asleep right now, so can you call back in an hour or is this urgent?"
"Uh, it's sort of important. But, you know, I'm sure it can wait an hour." Peter sounded a little nervous.
"No, Pete, what is it?" Nat asked gently.
There was a long silence at the end of the line. "Well, uh, I sorta got bitten by this spider..." Peter started. "And I think it's radioactive... also I'm stuck on the ceiling of my room, so please help."

Two hours later, Natasha and Bruce hurried to Peter's apartment.
Natasha knew May wasn't at home, because Peter said she worked from seven in the morning until around nine in the evening, and Nat picked the lock to the apartment with relative ease.
"Peter?" she called worriedly.
"In here!"
She and Bruce went into Peter's room to see him, in fact, stuck to his ceiling. He looked absolutely terrified until they came in.
"Uh, hi, Dr. Banner, Miss Romanoff." He waved awkwardly from the ceiling. "Nice to see you."
Bruce stared up at the fourteen-year-old. "Do you know if you can get down?"
Peter looked from his feet to his hands and back to the scientist. "I don't think I know how to, no," he replied.
Natasha chuckled. "Okay, can you push off with your feet and hold on with your hand?" she asked. "Then you can go on your fingertips and push off there."
Peter did as she coached and he was back down with them within five minutes.
"Thank you," he said, trying to compose himself. "That was fun."
Bruce furrowed his eyebrows. "You said you got bitten by a radioactive spider?"
Peter nodded. "You're the world's foremost scientist in radiation, and I also have no one else, so there's that." He showed them his arm, where two faint dots were slowly fading away.
"When were you bitten?" the scientist asked, peering at the wound with his glasses on.
Peter shrugged. "Few hours ago. I was at the science fair."
"District?" Bruce was still inspecting the bite.
Peter blinked. "Uh, no, sir. State."
"Did you have an entry?"
"Yeah. I submitted it but I came home after the... spider thing."
Natasha was watching Bruce. "Do you need to do an analysis?" she asked him.
