The next morning, Peter woke up in his bunk with the sunlight streaming through the bay window in the room, where a figure sat, casting a shadow over the floor.

"Morning, Spider-Man," MJ greeted him with a faint, unimpressed smile. "How're you feeling?"

Peter just stared, watching the sun rays shine off of her face.

"Peter?" MJ sighed, walking over to him and getting into his face. "Can you hear me?"

He blinked. "Yeah." He patted himself over his body to check fro missing limbs and the such. "I'm feeling great, actually." Peter realized he wasn't wearing his suit. "Did you, uh...?"

MJ rolled her eyes, avoiding his face. "Yeah. Don't mention it. Ever." She walked to the doorway before stopping and turning back to him. "Make breakfast. I'm going to work on fixing your suit."

"Okay." Peter turned to watch her back as she left.

He got out of his bed slowly before testing his weight on his bad foot, happy to find it only bearable and not mind-numbing pain-wise. He went to the kitchen and started making breakfast, which was toasted muffins and eggs Benedict, something Dr. Banner taught him to make in the summer.

"Food's done!" Peter called as he plated. He set the dish onto the kitchen peninsula, turning it so the pretty side was the most noticable.

MJ sat down onto a barstool across from him. "Looks and smells good," she commented off-handedly. "But does it taste good?" she teased.

Peter gestured to the cutlery. "Find out."

He watched MJ apprehensively as she chewed thoughtfully.

"It's fine," she said, finally.

Peter broke out into a grin.

MJ furrowed her brows. "Why is your face doing that? I said it was fine."

"It's a compliment from you!" Peter said cheerfully, now digging into his own meal. "I'll take anything!"

She rolled her eyes as she climbed off the stool. "I'll be in the lab."

"I'll be there in a bit," Peter replied.

MJ nodded and walked back into the research room.

Peter finished his food quickly before washing the dishes and wiping them off, replacing them in the cabinets. He went into the lab. "Hey." He swung onto a wheelie chair.

MJ didn't look up from her screen. "Hey." She looked absent-minded, so Peter decided to put it to the test.

"I nearly killed that Vulture guy yesterday," he said.

"Uh-huh."

"Aunt May has a thing for Happy."

"Okay."

"Dr. Banner wants to propose."

"Good for him."

"I like you."

That got her attention. MJ's head snapped up. "What?"

Peter tried to suppress a grin. "Oh, nothing," he replied airily.

MJ threw and eraser at him. It bounced off his chest harmlessly. "You can't just say things you don't mean, Peter. You liar."

"I'm not a liar," Peter retorted.

MJ shook her head, already back into her daydreaming state.

Peter watched her work for an hour and a half before Artoo rolled in, spelling out a message in beeps.
