I would just like to preface this by saying that this chapter will be split into two parts, the second of which I'm still writing. This chapter is much shorter than usual and I'm very sorry I couldn't deliver the entire chapter as a whole. On a happier note, enjoy this half chapter!

PART 1

"Peter! The suit's done!"

Peter whipped his head around to see MJ beckoning him over. He ran over to the printer. When he saw it, his jaw dropped. "Nice."

MJ smacked his arm. "Ten days of work and a month of solid research and all you can think of is 'nice'?" she demanded. "It's nano-tech!"

Peter nodded. "It's awesome."

"Better."

"Can I try it on?" He asked her. As always, MJ had the final say in any project they do because, a) she's infinitely more responsible and b), Peter has very little impulse control.

"Yep," she replied, already back to her computer. "It should work."

Peter pushed the spider symbol and watched in amazement as the suit rapidly dissolved into the chest piece. "We have to show Mr. Stark the next time he visits." He stuck the piece on his chest and tapped it twice.

The nano-bots swarmed his body in floods of red and blue. Seven seconds later, he was fully encased in the suit.

Peter blinked as the display in front of his eyes lit up and dimmed, some bots on his forehead probably reading some signals his brain was sending. It made his sight very comfortable. A voice in his ear spoke up.

"Mic test. Parker, can you hear me?" MJ asked.

It wasn't staticky and her voice sounded pretty, though Peter wondered later how a voice could sound 'pretty'.

"Yep. You're all good," he answered. He looked around in his mask. "It's great. I can still see in my periphreal sides. Uhh–" he knocked on his forehead like he was testing a helmet– "head protection is good. I wonder–" he tapped a small display on his arm, selecting a button that said 'civilian' and his display melted into glasses and his suit became looser, changing into a t-shirt and pants– "hey, it works!"

"Of course it works, Peter, we made it," MJ said. She was speaking into the room instead of his speakers, which was just as well because he didn't know if that would work. "Were you surprised?"

Peter froze. "No. Of course not."

MJ regarded him with an annoyed looked before rolling her eyes and going back to her computer. "Go to the training room and do some exercises in the suit. Let's test the range of motion," she told him.

"Okay," Peter grinned.

The next day, he and Ned were walking down the hallway to their next class.

"See you at lunch," Ned said.

Peter waved half-heartedly and went into his Physics classroom. He sat down at his desk, wondering where MJ was. She was usually there before him, somehow.

The bell rang and she still wasn't there.

Peter frowned.

How very uncharacteristic of her.

He barely paid any attention in class because he was wondering what happened to MJ, when Ms. Warren asked him a question. "Peter. You still with us?"

His head jerked up. "Uh... Uh... Yeah, yeah," he stammered. Peter studied the board for a second. "Oh. Uh... Mass cancels out, so it's just gravity times sine."
