Four minutes, forty-nine seconds.

Peter hurried to clean out his locker as his watch ticked down in a timer he set.

He and Miss Romanoff had done drills for this, with Wanda, Pietro, and Vision, but he had never been alone. He had never touched the control laptop. He hadn't even known there was one until a minute ago.

Peter wondered how everything could've gone so wrong in such a short amount of time. This morning, his biggest problem was being filmed stopping a bus crash in his Stark hoodie.

Now it was... whatever this was.

3 minutes, four seconds.

He ran into the lab and called out for FRIDAY to start the download for everything to go into the main Avengers server at the upstate compound. He grabbed the laptop from a drawer that Tony told him to never open, looked around the lab, and sighed.

2 minutes and counting down, and all he could do is stare at the room and remember everything he could've done here.

Peter's watch beeped and he shook himself off, stuffing the laptop into his backpack and grabbing the spare keys from the keys box.

One minute, fifteen seconds.

He grabbed the sunglasses Mr. Stark had left behind when he went to his speech at MIT to announce the September Foundation Grant. Peter would have to return them the next time he saw the billionaire. He locked the door to the staircases as he ran into the stairwell.

Thirty-six seconds.

Peter leaped down the staircase to the ground floor, carefully adjusting his weight so he wouldn't stumble as he landed. He ran to the back and unlocked his bike, wheeling it as quickly as possible without tripping himself.

Ten seconds.

He closed the door behind him, trusting the fact that there were no door handles on the fire escape doors would keep out regular people like Mr. Stark said they would.

Three seconds, and Peter jumped on his bike, peddling quickly to leave before he broke his promise to only be five minutes.

His watch beeped as he crossed the street to the next block.

Peter sighed again as he stopped riding his bike and hopped off neatly to walk it into the building.

"May?" he called as he got into the apartment.

No one answered, thankfully, so Peter went to his room and opened the laptop. It blinked awake in typical Stark blue and asked for his credentials. He typed them in quickly and the prompt Miss Romanoff talked about lit up the screen in a big white box.

He clicked on the confirm box and watched as the screen loaded like the internet was bad.

'Task completed' popped up on the screen and Peter turned it off, stuffing it into his closet.

He sat back in his bed, heart going abnormally fast, even though he stopped biking a few minutes ago.

Peter heard his heartbeat roar in his ears.

His phone rang, and to his surprise, it was MJ.

When he realized why she was calling him a split second later, Peter swore mentally because he had a project with her due on the fourth... which was in a week.

He picked up and braced himself for whatever MJ was going to say.

"Parker, was that you running away from the post office?" was what he heard instead, and he was so shocked he forgot how to speak for a moment. "Peter?"
