CHAPTER THIRTY SIX
as a friend

"Arf!" Miyuki barked as soon as I got inside in my condo unit, Emma following me from behind.

"Hi! Thank you for taking care of Miyuki." Emma said as she kissed her boyfriend's cheeks and being all PDA with her boyfriend.

We already got home from the resort and it was extremely fun. Specially when every problems has now ended, I have nothing to think of now. All I need is to finish my left months here in Japan and I'll be back in LA to finish some papers in there and ofcourse, start a new house to build here in my homeland.

Draken then left after giving back the clone keys of my unit as Emma goes to Draken outside, leaving me and Miyuki alone in the condo. I plopped down into my couch as I leaned back in the backrest, Miyuki hopping into the couch to sit beside me, rest in her head in my lap.

I caressed her ears as she easily dozed off to dreamland, I smiled at how adorable my dog is. She really likes this kind of touches, and she really loves to cuddle. She's like a dog that has a cat behavior. I laughed at the thought of it as I sighed yet again.

In the next few minutes, I ended up sleeping in the couch. I suddenly woke up from the sound of oil sizzling in the kitchen, I immediately shot up from the couch to see Emma already cooking, probably, for lunch.

"What time is it?" I asked as soon as I got nearer in the kitchen counter. Emma turned around and smiled, Miyuki was waiting, sitting politely, beside Emma.

"11:38 PM. Almost time for lunch. I'll just going to let this simmer for a few minutes and we're done."

And it did, after the lunch, I planned on visiting the office first before thinking of taking a one day-off rest. Emma said that she's going out today with her boyfriend so, I guess, I'm all alone for the mean time. I then walked to the bathroom and decided to shower Miyuki first before I do, so she could sleep after her bath and won't sulk if she knew that I'm going to leave her alone, again.

After some time, I finally arrived at the company and everyone is keeping their selves busy with the office works that needs to be done. I sighed as soon as I get inside of the elevator, predicting that there will be a hundreds of paper to sign, stacked on my desk and a massive meetings that needs to attend via online or thru face to face meet up.

And I really got it right, two stacked medium height of papers in my table, waiting for me to sign them, beside the computer monitor. I put my handbag down as I sighed, sitting in my swivel chair, pulling myself closer to the desk as I grabbed my untouched pen, opening the cap and start reading and signing the papers.

After almost three hours of non-stop signing, typing, and reading on either paper or computer, I put my glasses down to gently massage my eyelids softly aching from all the radiation I've received from the monitor. My head is now getting hazy with all of this stress, and right now, all I could think about is to finish this papers and resume this after my one day-off work tomorrow.

I continued to finish my work and I finally stopped right after 4 hours passed, the sun is already down and visible navy blue hued skies with small shining lights from a hundred stars. I looked away from my window and soon shut down the power of my monitor, cleaning off some dirt and mess in the table to throw in the trash can. I pulled up to have myself a little energy drink in my mini-fridge, opening the cap the drink the contents of the bottle. Hastily finished it, throwing the bottle to the trash as I walked to the couch to grab my handbag and went to the door, closing my office's door behind me.
