CHAPTER THIRTY EIGHT
an angel

"WHAT THE FUCK?!"

"Emma, would you lower your voice and calm down? It's so damn loud." I said, as soon as I sat back down in my swivel chair.

It's been almost five weeks since that steamy raining midnight, I haven't told Emma about it until she finally cracked my patience and now, she's here, overreacting about what happened that night. I mean, overreacting is an overstatement since, if I was in Emma's shoes too, I would be shock.

"Calm down?! You want me to calm down when I just recently knew about what happened to you and him weeks ago?! OMG! You're dry days is finally over!" She cheered and grabbed the sealed cup of her favorite Starbucks Iced Coffee.

"Give it a rest." I said as we both laughed and started to continue working on the unfinished works.

While doing some paperworks, a knock interrupted as we then looked at each thinking on who might be the visitor is. But when Emma opened the door it was just a delivery guy holding a big ass bouquet of sunflowers and also another box of sweet pastries with a sticky note on it. Emma didn't hesitate to sign the paper that was holding out by the delivery guy and then held the bouquet and also the box of pastries.

"OMG!" Emma squealed like a seventeen stupid inlove highschool girl, as she put the bouquet in the couch while the box of sweets is in my desk right now. She's still squealing while holding out the card, attached to bouquet she just dropped at my table. "I'm going to read it out loud, okay?! Another bouquet of pink roses for you, my love. AAHHH!! I can't breathe with all of this romantic side of Mr. Haitani!" Emma, yet again, squealed.

I smiled as I felt the heat, rush in my cheeks. Grabbing the bouquet and carrying it in my arms as the scent of the roses, lingered in my nose. But, I felt weird, I don't know why but I suddenly felt the urge to throw away the bouquet of roses because of it's nasty smell. Even trying to hide the disgust, Emma noticed how my face reacted when I smelled the flowers in the bouquet.

"Eh? Does the roses smell rotten?" She asked and pulled the roses away from me for her to smell it by herself. And when she did, I thought that she's going to react the same as mine but it was the opposite.

"It smells like a rotten corpse of a dead rat or something like fart or really bad than the fart." I said as I pulled myself again in the monitor, focusing on my work.

"It's not! It smells fine, goodness, I think you need to rest. You're stressing yourself too much in work, I'll do the rest and you should let yourself rest, okay? Go home now, play with Miyuki, and rest." Emma said then put down the bouquet back in the table, as she pulled me up away from the monitor, grabbing my handbag as she handed it to me. Pushing me at the back towards the door as she slammed it behind me, right after when I was at the outside of my office. Since I couldn't decline anymore, I walked out of the place and went back to my condo to have a rest for the whole day.

But that's what I thought.

When I got in the condominium, I wanted to play with Miyuki but she was sleeping in my bed and didn't even move when I hugged her, like I always do when I got home with her sleeping. She would instantly wake up and then hop around but now, she's sleeping, snoring to dreamland. I sighed in frustration as I got up in my feet, walked to the kitchen to see if we need to do some restocking.

Emma told me to rest but I couldn't stop myself from being productive.

When I noticed that the refrigerator is almost out of stock of everything and it literally has only a half filled box of milk. Without any word, I grabbed my purse, phone and car keys to go get some groceries for our monthly consume.
