The kingdom was quiet, a complete change from the usually bright, bustling streets. Currently, everybody was inside due to a planned snowstorm.
..Wintertime was still quite nice, though.

Latte's residence was comforting and quiet, the scent of fresh coffee lingering throughout the home.
The young professor took a sip from her warmed mug, eventually setting it down to finish up her work.

Currently, the woman was busy doing winter grading for her students, since quite a few submitted assignments late..
..But, she didn't mind. It gave her something to do, other than lay in bed, lazing around all day.

With a slight sigh, Latte set down her pen, stretching, then standing up to grab a snack, and possibly make herself another cup of coffee..
..But, she didn't expect to hear a gentle, timid knock at her wooden door.

The young professor set down her brownie, and walked over to see who was visiting.
Seeing brown hair, she pretty much assumed it was her brother, here again to bug her about needing papers or something..

With a groan, she unlocked and opened the door, preparing to scold the man, but there only stood- Cocoa??
She was smiling brightly, holding a small bag in one hand.

"Ah, Cocoa! I was unaware that you would be visiting, it is..Quite cold, afterall.."
Latte sheepishly chuckled, smiling when Cocoa chuckled too.

"I simply wanted to stop by and drop off some hot chocolate, from the café!"
She lifted the bag closer in front of her, making sure Latte knew what she had visited for.

"How wonderful! Would you..Like to come in? Like I said, it is quite cold!"
With a large grin, Latte gently took the bag from the other's gloved hands.
Cocoa simply nodded, with a small giggle.
The witch took a small step back, opening the door a bit wider so the other could enter the warm home.

With a bit of a bow, Cocoa walked in, immediately getting hit with the warmth of the other's cozy home.
Latte gently closed her door, following close behind.

The witch set down the bag on her small table, softly sitting onto the couch. Cocoa sat next to her, reaching to grab the cups from the bag, setting them onto the table afterwards.

"Enjoy! Oh, but be careful, it's pretty warm..!"
Cocoa softly said, flustering a bit at the gentle smile she got in reply.

The two sat and enjoyed their drinks, having quite a few interesting conversations in the meantime.
..Eventually, they got into some more personal conversations, mostly about their childhoods.

(..Latte even pulled out the baby picture book..)

But, the one conversation they started had hit hard.

"Hmm..On the topic of- y'know..Exes..I do have one.."
Latte muttered with a sigh. Cocoa only stared.

"..The detective, right? What exactly..Happened?"
She questioned, reaching to put a hand on Latte's shoulder as some form of comfort.

"Same old, same old. Things didn't work out, n' we both kinda..Figured out sexuality stuff, y'know?"
Latte smiled somberly, remembering the day she realized that she liked women instead, and when she confessed about it.

..Thankfully, Almond never got violent, nor angry. He had fully understood, and instead of an argument, admitted that he himself had figured things out sexuality-wise.

"I completely understand! Er- Me and Mint went through kinda the same thing but..We more of 'fell out of love'.."
Cocoa seemed quite a bit upset about this, the memories of her dearest Mint, admitting to her that he felt their relationship wasn't working.
Obviously, she understood. But, it did still hurt quite a bit.

"But, it ended up being quite a blessing, hehe..!"
She gave a happy grin, as she continued to talk after seeing Latte's confused face.

"He helped me out, and I helped him! We both figured out that we were actually bi, which was interesting!"
Cocoa explained, with a bright smile on her face.
The two continued their happy chatter about the whole ex-thing, which eventually escalated into Latte ranting about her brother's huge denial problems and struggles with dati-..
...Moving on.

Cocoa also ranted quite a bit about one of her sisters, who was currently in a faraway kingdom. Apparently, she was also dealing with relationship problems.

They conversated some more, until Latte finally glanced at the clock, seeing just how late it was.

"Oh my- It seems we lost track of time, heh..!"
She awkwardly mumbled, staring at the clock hand that pointed at the '12' symbol.
Cocoa giggled, staring outside the snowy window.

"Ah, right-! M-My original intent was to stay here for the night, since unfortunately well..Mint needed to escape his apartment for a while, yes-!"
She stuttered out, twirling a strand of brown hair around her finger embarrassingly.

The witch flustered a bit, and simply decided to nod, in fear of something embarrasing coming out.

..She lead the other to her room, since well- The guest room was overtaken currently..
..Ignoring the thoughts, Latte grabbed some extra blankets and pillows, and helped Cocoa get situated.

The two cuddled up that night, in a gentle, but warm embrace, to keep them from the chilling winter air.

(..Latte was extremely embarrassed when Espresso brought Affogato for some family visit- Yeah, that was payback from both of them for the multiple encounters of Latte walking into their homes uninvited..)
