I sat on the ground with my back to Harry’s couch, wrapped in a blanket, in front of a warm fire, completely embarrassed that I had to show up at his house in the first place. But I was happy to be here at the same time, it was welcoming and calming.
“Here’s your tea, Keels.” Harry said to me as he handed it over.
“Thanks.” I sniffled before I took a sip.
He looked at me, the couch, and then decided to join me on the floor.
“So are you going to tell me what happened?” He asked me sweetly.
I took a jagged breath and looked down at my cup of tea, and slowly nodded my head.
I could trust him.
After I informed Harry on the incident with Niall, and how Tom tried to take advantage of me… he sort of freaked out a little bit.
He couldn’t believe Tom would do that to me, and I mean, I don’t blame him. I never thought he was that kind of guy at all.
“Well at least you didn’t let it go out of hand.” He added.
I sighed heavily.
“The thing is though, it honestly could have. I was so vulnerable after everything that already happened tonight that I wasn’t in my right mind. I would have hooked up with him… God. I didn’t even like him. I just liked the thought of liking him I guess.” I revealed to harry as I continued to wipe away stray tears. My make up was gone by now.
I could tell me saying that triggered something in Harry by the way he looked at me afterwards.
“Is it because you’re trying to cover up other feelings?” He questioned me.
Shit, this kid was spot on.
I looked at him uncomfortably for a minute before I found the courage to respond.
“I guess… yeah…” I hesitated.
He smiled over at me, trying to show he wasn’t going to judge me.
I smiled back, not knowing what to say.
“Why can’t you just tell Niall you have feelings for him?” He blurted out naturally.
I turned to look at his sly expression on his face and pushed him over, almost spilling the tea in my hands.
We both laughed rather hard before I asked him, “Is it that obvious?”
“It’s actually not. I can just tell by the way you look at him.” He answered me.
I smiled a bit.
Then it faded… it’s not like the feelings were mutual.
“And the way he looks at you, Keely, is undeniable.” He added compassionately.
I quickly turned to face him, my eyes rather wide.
“Wait, what do you mean?” I wondered.
I couldn’t even fathom Niall and I feeling the same way.
“How can you not see he’s crazy about you?” He laughed.
“I… I don’t know I mean he has always told me I was beautiful, but I thought it was in a ‘friend way’, you know? And plus, how am I supposed to compare with girls like Demi? I’m just an old friend he’s known forever. Average.” I tried to explain.
Harry grabbed some tea off the table in front of it, and sipped some.
He knew I was very curious about this, so he was taking his time to just bug me.
