Niall’s POV

I looked down at the letter from Keely, with great anxiety.
I took a deep breath before I began to read the words aloud.

“Niall, there’s something I never got the chance to tell you.
When One Direction came to New York, I was really hoping you would have given me a call.
But, you didn’t.
And I will not lie to you, I was very upset.
You were still my best friend, even though it had been awhile since we had spoken.
When the night of the show came around, a couple of my friends were going, and they begged me to tag along, but I refused.
I ended up taking a walk that night right near the venue. The show probably had a good while left, and I don’t know what it was… but I just… I needed to go watch.
So yes, I snuck in.
How’d that happen, you ask?
Just my luck, a back door was open. I stole a tech pass and pretended like I was supposed to be there.
When I made it out to the crowd, you were singing Use Somebody.
I shifted over through screaming teenage girls, and finally found a spot to see perfectly.
Just in time for your solo.
… Niall… you were born for this. Seeing you on that stage, singing with guitar in hand, was fantastic.
I was smiling the whole time, completely in awe of you.
You owned that stage, and everyone in the crowd knew it.
I hope you stay involved in music forever, because you are always so happy when you play.
And seeing you happy, made me so happy that day.
And it still does.
Now you’re probably wondering why I took the time to write you this, after everything I said to you earlier today.
I just felt like you should know that I haven’t stopped being your biggest fan, and I never will. After all, you gave me the honor of being your Princess oh so long ago.
So I hope things go well for you on your journey. And just know that you have earned all of your success.
Who knows… maybe I’ll sneak into another concert of yours, or we’ll repeat this cycle in another 2 years.
A lot of things can change in 2 years, but I’m sure you already knew that.
A lot of things can change in a day.
We just have to make it happen.

Love,
Keely.

P.S.
I may have forgotten something on the bed. Oops.”

I ended it, in tears.
She was there at the show, cheering me on.
No matter what terrible thing I do, she still forgives me in her own way, and keeps up her angel persona. Like this letter for instance, she didn’t need to write this. She practically hates me right now, but she still wanted me to know she was my biggest fan, even though I deserve none of this.

I was so in love with my best friend that it killed me more and more, every second.
…Wait.

On the bed.

With that thought, I sat up quickly, startling Jack, and ran to the bed.
I looked under all the blankets for something and found nothing.

Until I lifted up her pillow.

And there it was, her ipod.
The one she forgot on our treehouse two years ago.
“My little piece of Keely that I selfishly kept”.

She was perfect.
And she was gone.

And I really had no clue what to do.

I looked over at her letter as it laid on the ground.
And I thought…

“We just have to make it happen.”

But I couldn’t yet.
Not now. This wasn’t the time.

**

It had been a week since the incident and I was given the whole time off.

I thought a lot.
About how I could fix this mess, and if I even could.
I knew Keely stayed with Eleanor and Louis one night, then one with Harry before she caught a plane back to who knows where.
Apparently this week, Zayn finally spoke to Angela about everything that happened between them. He told me what happened and apparently Angela told Keely.
They decided that they were too in love with they’re partners already that they were going to put this past behind them, and not speak for a long while.
Not exactly what I would do… but I guess it works for now.

I never did ask Eleanor, Harry, or Louis where Keely was.
I’m sure they knew, but I just didn’t want to know for some reason.

I was currently walking down some familiar halls down at head quarters.
Down to Cece’s office.
I had made an appointment with her last night, so she had known ahead of time.

I swung open the door and felt almost sickly when I was in her presence, and in that room.

“Hello Niall.” She said to me seriously, as she sat at her desk, keeping her eyes on the papers in front of her.
I didn’t say anything for a moment and just stood awkwardly.
Then I made my way to the chair in front of her, sat down, and continued not to speak.

She began to slowly lift her chin to where she was looking directly at me, and took her glasses off.
“What can I help you with?” She asked me.

Did she take me as an idiot?

“Was this all part of your plan? To have Keely walk in on us, knowing that would ruin her, and send her away. Cause I know you’ve been trying to get her out of the picture for quite sometime now.” I let out.

She replied with a laugh.
God that pissed me off.

“You’re still hung up on that? Honestly Niall, you could have any girl in the world, and you’re so fixated on this childhood friend. This perfect romantic fantasy. So cliche. But you’re not just some average boy, you’re Niall Horan, from One Direction. The biggest boyband in the entire world. You can’t expect to be with some… some nobody.” She answered with a snarky tone.

“You don’t get it, do you? Love doesn’t have to be based off of looks, or who you are in the social standpoint of things. Why is it that, since I’m considered a “celebrity”, I have to date a celebrity? It’s like back in highschool, a big fuss was made if a popular boy dated a not so popular girl. And that’s probably one of the stupidest things I’ve ever heard. Love is based on the individual, who they are, and what they mean to you. Not on some sort of ‘rank’.” I spoke from the heart the best I could, without getting overwhelmingly angry.

She looked at me in the eyes, head tilted slightly then began to write on her papers again.
Clearly examining the words I just said.

“No.” Was all she said back.

“No?” I asked.

“I didn’t plan on her walking in on us. I just assumed you would end up telling her, from all the guilt. Her walking in on us was just a bonus. I’m sorry you lost your friend, Niall. And I’m sorry that I’m not actually sorry. I’m just doing my job, I just needed to take this route though. But hey, you are quite a good kisser, maybe we could do that again sometime?” She had the nerve to say.

I looked down and played at my hands for a bit.
I wasn’t going to let myself take this any longer.
“Cece…” I mumbled.
“Speak up.” She said, back to jotting things down on her papers.

I brought my eyes back to her.
“Cece!” I said strongly, demanding her full attention.
She stared fiercely back at me.

“You’re… You’re fired.” I said.

She looked at me like I was insane, as I began to get out of my seat.

“You can’t fire me! I’m your manager! I fire you!” She shouted at my turned back, heading towards the door.

I laughed then turned around to her with a smile across my face.
“Do you know who I am, Cece? I’m Niall Horan, from One Direction. The biggest boyband in the entire world. You can’t possibly think you can fire me, do you? Break up One Direction? Yes, cause that’s doing your job, alright. You have the rest of today and tomorrow to pack up your things, and leave. Sorry for doing this Cece, and I’m sorry I’m not sorry for doing this.” I threw down.

Her jaw dropped as she gazed back at me.

“I have so much shit on you, Niall! I could ruin you!” She yelled as I exited the office.

“I’d like to see you try!” I yelled back.
