"Aurelia?"

I pulled my eyes away from Hannah and Ernie to see Zacharias stood in front of me, trying to get my attention by waving his hand in front of my face.

"Oh, sorry." I giggled, "Daydreaming like always."

He let out a soft laugh before holding up a cup to me that he had been previously drinking out of, the smell of Firewhisky now familiar to me.

I shook my head, remembering what Cedric said, "I'm good."

"Come on, even Susan is drinking it. Don't be the odd one out." He lightly nudged my arm, pushing it even closer to me.

It was tempting, I didn't want to be the odd one out like he said, and it was the first party of the year, I'm pretty sure everyone was doing it, this was probably my one and only chance without getting caught.

"Alright." I took it from him, taking a few more sips until the taste and burning sensation became too much, plus, I didn't want to have too much.

As I gave it back to him, a smirk was visible on his face, "Damn, fair enough Quinn."

The effects of the drink had yet to hit me, but I was nervous for when they would, immediately regretting it again, I had a problem with that.

"You want to see something?" He changed the subject, placing the cup back down on the table next to us.

I frowned, wondering what he might show me, but I was too curious to say no, "Sure."

He motioned for me to follow him and began leading me out of common room, slowly walking down the staircases, warning me to hurry up before they started moving again.

Once we reached the bottom, he stopped by the courtyard and leant against one of the pillars, patting the seat next to him.

"What is it then?" I crossed my arms to try and warm up.

He shrugged, "Nothing, I just wanted time alone with you."

Something in the atmosphere shifted, and just from the look on his face, I suddenly felt uncomfortable. The effects of the drink were beginning to hit me, and I realized that it probably wasn't smart to be this far from everyone else.

"Well maybe we should head back, I don't want a teacher catching us-"

"Shh. You talk too much." He whispered as he pushed off from the wall, walking closer to me, the smell of Firewhisky present in his breath.

I took a step backwards, "Zach? What are you doing?"

His eyes drifted down to my lips and soon enough, his hand was making its way to my waist, pulling me closer before I could move any further away.

My own eyes wide, I quickly put my hand on top of his, trying to pull it off, but he refused to let go and my chest was beginning to tighten up.

"No-"

"I always knew we had something. Didn't you?" He kept his voice low as he raised his other hand to my cheek, not even noticing my reaction.

I could tell he had too much to drink, but that didn't justify his sudden change in behavior, especially without asking me first. I had never shown him any signs that I liked him like that, in fact, I always tried to get him to see how good him and Susan would be together.

"Aurelia? Zach?"

We both turned around to see Susan stood behind us, disappointment written all over her face as I pulled away once Zacharias finally loosened his grip.

"Susan, it's not what you think." I moved closer to her, but before I could get another word in, she quickly spun on her heel and ran off.

Not wanting to be left alone with him or lose my friendship with her, I didn't hesitate to run after her, calling out her name the entire time.
