When I woke up the next morning, I nearly had a heart attack when I wasn't in my usual yellow dorm, but instead in front of a fireplace, surrounded by green and silver.
"Morning." A voice caught me off guard and I quickly snapped my head to see a boy in slytherin robes, sat across from me.
When he saw how alarmed I was, he raised his eyes from his book and smiled at me, "Malfoy brought you here last night. I gave you that since you looked cold, hope you don't mind." He pointed to a blanket around me before returning his attention back to his pages.
The events of last night soon came back to me and I let out a sigh, groaning at the headache I had developed as well as my puffy eyes.
"Sorry- who are you?" I sheepishly asked, pulling the blanket over my shoulders.
"Theo. I'd like to say I'm nicer than Malfoy, so you don't have to worry." He joked, holding what I assumed was a cup of tea in his other hand that he occasionally sipped on.
I remembered him now, Theodore Nott, another Slytherin who I'm pretty sure Malfoy was friends with.
"You alright? You look like you've seen a ghost. Shit, I didn't know my morning hair was that bad-"
I quickly shook my head, giggling, "No, no. I just didn't expect to wake up here considering I'm a Hufflepuff, and I'm pretty sure most Slytherins aren't too fond of me."
Theo seemed nice in comparison to some of the other Slytherins I knew, I was surprised I had never come across him before. I sometimes saw him hang around Malfoy, but that was only really when Crabbe and Goyle weren't there.
"You're still here?" Another voice that I recognized came from behind me, his tone harsh and snappy.
I twisted my head over my shoulder to look at Malfoy, who seemed to only have just woken up too, his hair was messy, and he wasn't dressed in his usual robes.
"Woah, woah. No need for the hostility Malfoy." Theo held out his hand in front of him, a teasing smirk on his face.
Malfoy quickly shot him a glare before returning his gaze to me, his eyes travelling over me, examining the state I was in.
"I just woke up-" I kept my voice low.
"Well, you better get going then." He hissed, his demeanor very different from last night, he had gone back to how he usually was.
Malfoy had shown me a different side to him, he was kind to me and for once I didn't hate being around him. But it obviously must have just been a facade since he wasted no time going back to acting like he hated me again.
I don't know what I expected.
"Fine." I quickly stood up and straightened out my clothes, handing the blanket back to Theo with a smile, "Thank you Theo, it was lovely to meet you."
He returned the smile as he took it from me, "I hope to see you around, Aurelia."
I nodded, turning to face Malfoy who still hadn't dropped his glare, his jaw clenched and his eyes narrow, squinting at Theo who was clearly amused by the situation.
Not uttering a word to him, I quickly pushed past and walked out before I could get any judgmental looks from other Slytherins thrown my way.
I was exhausted, last night had worn me out and even though I got a great sleep, all I wanted was to go back to bed and stay there for the rest of the day, avoiding everyone I could until it all settled down.
But I had no choice, I would have to face everyone.
I slowly began walking back to the Hufflepuff common room, taking my time to allow others to leave before I got there, praying that it would be practically empty when I did.
