The city of Amalur slept beneath a silvery veil, its glowing spires and bioluminescent flora casting ghostly reflections across the cobbled streets. Rose and Yuma followed Ragnar in silence, their footsteps muffled by the soft earth beneath the arching skywalks and twilight bridges of the Moonlight City.
Ragnar's stride was confident, fluid, as though he belonged to the city in a way they didn't. He hadn't said much since they left the desecrated Cathedral, simply flashing them an easy grin whenever their gazes met. Yuma, however, wasn't buying the charm.

"I still don't trust him," Yuma muttered under his breath, eyes locked on the back of their guide. "He's too smooth. Too fast with those blades. And he knew way too much about us before we said a word."
"He saved our lives, Yuma," Rose replied, her tone gentle but firm. "And... something about him feels right. Familiar. Like we've met already or something."
Yuma glanced at her, concern etched on his face. "Or a nightmare."
They came to a narrow alley framed by curling ivy and carved stone, its entrance nearly invisible unless one knew where to look. Ragnar paused beside a nondescript door, raising a gloved hand to knock in a rhythmic pattern—four sharp taps, a pause, then two more.
A mechanical click sounded, and the door creaked open.

Inside was a small but comfortable safehouse—warmly lit by dim mana-crystals embedded into the walls. The air smelled faintly of lavender and parchment. A low fire crackled in a hearth built into the corner, and a pair of plush chairs faced it, worn but welcoming. A table lined with elven maps and scrolls dominated the center, and nearby, a tea kettle steamed quietly atop a rune-marked stove.
